We call our Austin, TX, headquarters home - our dog-friendly office is centrally located north of downtown and features an open and collaborative floorplan, fully stocked kitchen, and on-site fitness room. This role is in-office Mondays through Thursdays, with a work from home day on Friday, if desired.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic, fast-paced team. As a key player in the development of new features for our platform, you will leverage experience with modern development techniques and tools to build and enhance our product, while also working with a modern tech stack including Fast API, Vue.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and AWS. A strong understanding of AI capabilities and limitations is essential. Excellent communication skills are required to be successful in this position. Familiarity with Salesforce is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Development:
  • Design, develop, and implement new features across the full stack using Vue.js for frontend, Fast API for backend, Python for Lambdas, and PostgreSQL for database management.
  • Ensure features are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Write well-documented, efficient, and reusable code.
• Technical Leadership:
  • Lead by example in best coding practices, code reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for the effective use of AI development tools and ensure all team members understand the implications and limitations of incorporating AI models.
  • Participate in refinement discussions to help drive clarity to work being performed.
• System Maintenance:
  • Maintain and optimize existing systems to enhance performance, security, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across both the frontend and backend.
• AWS Management:
  • Utilize AWS services to deploy applications, manage infrastructure, and ensure high availability and performance.
• Salesforce Integration:
  • If applicable, integrate, customize, and extend Salesforce platforms to meet specific business needs.

Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in Vue.JS and TypeScript for front-end development.
  • Experience with AI-powered development environments like Cursor or similar AI coding tools.
  • Strong experience with Fast API/ Python for backend logic and server-side applications.
  • Solid experience with AWS cloud services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Git).
• General Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Critical thinking and deep understanding of AI system limitations, security risks, and responsible development practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with Salesforce for CRM integration or development.
  • Experience in AI/ML development, including familiarity with relevant frameworks and libraries, to support future product initiatives.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
