Lead iOS engineer to design, build, and own end-to-end iOS features for Bumble BFF. Collaborate with PMs and Designers, evolve iOS architecture, ensure performance and App Store delivery, mentor junior engineers, and leverage AI-assisted tools to improve developer experience.
We’re looking for a Lead iOS Software Engineer to help shape the Bumble BFF experience. This role is ideal for engineers who are experienced in building and delivering end-to-end features on the iOS platform, comfortable owning projects independently, and ready to contribute meaningfully to technical architecture and mentoring junior teammates. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver high-impact work in a fast-moving environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS features that power Bumble’s consumer-facing experiences
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to shape product vision, define requirements, and translate ideas into thoughtful iOS implementations
- Own iOS features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation through testing, release, and iteration
- Contribute to and evolve the iOS architecture and engineering standards, balancing long-term maintainability with rapid product delivery
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve productivity, code quality, and developer experience
- Help mature the team’s approach to AI usage by sharing best practices, tooling, and learnings with other engineers
- Support and mentor other iOS engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance
About You
- 6+ years of professional experience building and shipping production iOS applications
- Strong proficiency in Swift with deep experience in UIKit; working knowledge of SwiftUI in production environments
- Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable iOS architectures (e.g. MVVM, TCA, VIPER, or similar) in large codebases
- Solid understanding of iOS concurrency and performance (async/await, GCD, memory management)
- Experience integrating and consuming networked APIs from iOS clients, including error handling and performance considerations
- Strong knowledge of iOS platform fundamentals (app lifecycle, view rendering, Auto Layout, accessibility, localization)
- Experience owning iOS features end-to-end, including technical design, implementation, testing, and App Store delivery

- This role is based in Austin or NYC, and we ask that you’re within a commutable distance to this office, so that you’re able to come onsite regularly to collaborate across engineering teams.
- We have a hybrid environment that requires you to be in the office Monday - Wednesday.
