Summary of Role:
The Corporate Communications and Media Relations Lead will be responsible for overseeing and executing integrated communications strategies across media relations, executive thought leadership initiatives and blog and social content to elevate GF’s global brand presence. This communications role is critical to supporting and advancing the company’s corporate reputation, driving strategic storytelling and messaging, amplifying key leadership across key areas such as government affairs, sustainability and R&D. The role also involves managing content creation, fostering media relationships, and supporting global communications strategies to demonstrate GF’s expertise in sustainability, policy and commitment to innovation.

Essential Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications & Reputation Management

  • Strategically amplify business milestones, innovations, and thought leadership including key focus areas such as government affairs, sustainability and innovation.
  • Serve as a strategic partner in high-profile or sensitive communications, including crisis situations related to government policy, geopolitics, or ESG issues.
  • Oversee and manage the strategic direction, editorial calendar for GF’s press releases and blog, aligning content with corporate messaging and target audiences.

Media Relations & Messaging

  • Lead media relations efforts to elevate GF’s profile in top-tier business publications, focusing on earned media opportunities that promote GF’s position as a leader in essential chips, global manufacturing, and commitment to innovation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists and media influencers to drive consistent and positive coverage.
  • Organize and lead media interviews, briefings, roundtables and other high-impact engagements with key executives and subject matter experts to strengthen media relationships and reinforce key narratives.
  • Develop and maintain messaging across priority topics including R&D, sustainability, U.S. government and policy, and customer experience, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategy.

Content Development & Executive Visibility

  • Drive executive visibility and thought leadership, particularly on LinkedIn and other corporate social channels, enhancing the digital footprint and credibility of senior leadership.
  • Lead engagement strategy for GF’s corporate social platforms (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook), ensuring brand alignment and maximizing audience engagement.
  • Partner with executives and SMEs to create thought leadership content, including narrative development, op-eds, videos, and social media posts that reflect GF’s expertise and corporate messaging.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, technical PR and global communication teams, to ensure a unified voice across campaigns, platforms, and geographies.
  • Align the communications strategy with the global marketing team to ensure cohesive and integrated messaging for all corporate initiatives. U.S. government affairs, sustainability and innovation.
  • Support communication needs for corporate announcements, product launches, and events.

Other Responsibilities:

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, and public affairs—preferably within the technology or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing high-impact media strategies, complex messaging that address regulatory, political, and technological topics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic communications efforts in high-stakes situations, including crisis management.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with senior leadership, global teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience developing thought leadership platforms and managing cross-functional teams in matrixed environments.
  • Deep understanding of the semiconductor landscape, government policy trends, and sustainability communications is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing multiple initiatives and driving results across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with creating and executing executive visibility strategies, particularly through social media platforms like LinkedIn.
  • Proven success in fostering media relationships, securing press placements, and achieving earned media coverage in top-tier publications.
  • Knowledge of government policies, sustainability trends, and industry regulations, especially as they relate to the technology and manufacturing sectors.

Expected Salary Range

$96,900.00 - $184,200.00
