POSITION SUMMARY

Constellis is hiring a Lead Processing Engineer to own the Processing domain end-to-end. This role defines architecture, standards, and technical direction for how raw sensor data becomes authoritative normalized events within Lexso.

 

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role — equal parts architect, mentor, and builder.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the Processing architecture and data contracts
  • Define normalization standards and schema enforcement strategy
  • Design spatial enrichment workflows (zones, H3, ENU, grids)
  • Lead technical decisions for stream processing frameworks
  • Review and approve Processing PRs and designs
  • Establish testing, validation, and quality gates
  • Coordinate with Ingestion, Spatial Grid, Reactor, and UI leads
  • Mentor Processing Engineers and set development best practices
  • Represent Processing in cross-team technical discussions

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8 years of experience designing data processing or streaming systems
  • 5 years of experience engineering in Python
  • 5 years of experience understanding event-driven architectures
  • Experience defining and enforcing schemas at scale
  • Geospatial processing experience (H3, polygons, point-in-polygon)
  • Experience with Kafka and stream processing patterns
  • Ability to reason about correctness, determinism, and data lineage
  • Eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Experience leading technical direction
  • Preferred experience:
    • Experience with sensor fusion systems
    • Familiarity with defense, security, or critical infrastructure platforms
    • Prior ownership of a production data pipeline
    • Kubernetes / cloud-native architecture experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday standard core hours, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Travel may be required for this role.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
