Your Impact
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical direction on translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs. This includes facilitating the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. This role serves as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions. In addition, this role personally develops and delivers complex code modules, stable application systems, and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolves complex problems spanning multiple applications to drive improvements across portfolios; leads projects with significant business implications and participates in planning, prioritization and estimates.
  • Leads development of integrated business and/or enterprise application to ensure solution is resilient, scalable, and maintainable and meets architectural standards.
  • Builds awareness and product alignment to enterprise recommended frameworks, tools, technologies, engineering platforms, and architectural design processes.
  • Drives operational excellence through disaster recovery and capacity planning, performance, regression and chaos testing, observability alerts and dashboards, and reliability processes and recovery runbooks.
  • Educates others on engineering standards and best practices, including code quality analysis, test coverage, security principles (authentication and authorization protocols), and Agile processes.
  • Mentors and advises others by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of enterprise and industry technologies, tools, methodologies, policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Continuously explores and recommends new enterprise software components and technologies.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 7 years of experience in software development or related field
  • 6 years of experience in any of the following: software engineering competencies frontend technologies (UI/UX), middleware (microservices and APIs), database technologies, DevOps
  • 6 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development lifecycles through iterative agile development

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science, CIS, or related field
  • 6 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software environment, developing and implementing business systems within an organization, and working with source code control systems
  • Experience in developing products/applications using Python, NiFi, Java, and Spring Boot microservices.
  • 2 years of experience in Big Data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Big Query, Spark, and Kafka, enabling effective processing, analysis, and utilization of large datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications on leading cloud platforms such as GCP (Google Cloud Platform preferably) or AWS, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness; and
  • Develop cloud-native applications from inception to deployment, leveraging cloud-native technologies and methodologies to optimize performance, resilience, and scalability.
  • Proficiency in both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, with experience in designing data models and optimizing queries.
  • Ability to stay current with AI advancements and evaluate their applicability to retail challenges.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for application development, mentoring team members on selecting the right AI tools and methodologies to streamline workflows and improve product velocity.
