Learning Experience Designer (Contract)

About the Role

We're looking for a highly skilled Learning Experience Designer with hands-on experience building engaging training across a wide range of topics to join our content team. In this role, you'll design and build our leadership training catalog — spanning skills for first-time managers through experienced leaders, as well as courses for navigating difficult people situations. Over time, you may contribute to other areas of our library as well.

You bring strong instructional design craft and the ability to quickly get up to speed on new subject matter, so you can turn complex concepts into clear, practical, engaging courses without needing a subject matter expert to hand you content. You also embrace AI-powered workflows to produce high-quality training faster and smarter.

Responsibilities

  • Research, outline, develop, and QA courses across a range of topics, starting with leadership content that spans core management skills to persona-specific courses for different levels of experience.

  • Write clear, engaging, learner-centered course content grounded in credible research and established best practices.

  • Apply scenario-based, practice-oriented instructional design suited to interpersonal and judgment-based skills (feedback, coaching, conflict, etc.).

  • Maintain a consistent voice and structure across a large, multi-course library.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated experience independently creating training content across varied subject areas — you can research and write accurate content without a dedicated SME feeding you material.

  • Proven ability to turn complex or unfamiliar concepts into engaging digital training in an LMS or e-learning format.

  • Experience with AI-powered course authoring tools such as Articulate Rise.

  • Strong written communication, instructional design skills, and attention to detail.

  • Comfort writing for sensitive topics (performance issues, conflict, layoffs) with appropriate tone.

  • Experience using Generative AI tools in course design and content development such as Claude, ChapGPT, or Gemini.

Preferred

  • Experience creating leadership, management, or professional skills training.

  • Background in HR, org development, or people management.

  • Experience designing persona-based or role-specific course tracks.

  • Experience building large course libraries, not just one-off courses.
