Job Description

As a Legal Operations Process Consultant you will partner with Corporate Legal teams and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, streamline workflows, and implement smarter ways of working. Many of the processes you’ll encounter may be informal, evolving, or inconsistent across teams—your role is to ask the right questions, map the current state, and help design scalable solutions.
Working closely with legal professionals, technology partners, and analytics resources, you will help connect process, data, and systems to improve how legal work is managed and delivered across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex operational challenges, and has a strong interest in how technology and data can improve business processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates understanding of business unit systems, workflows, and operational requirements within Corporate Legal and related business functions.

  • Partners with legal professionals and business stakeholders to identify, document, and map business processes, uncover inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.

  • Applies knowledge of business process design and operational best practices to improve workflows and operational effectiveness.

  • Collaborates with technology teams to identify opportunities where systems, automation, or tools can improve processes and enable more efficient ways of working.

  • Integrates subject matter knowledge with industry experience and process design principles to deliver innovative solutions and actionable recommendations.

  • Supports initiatives that connect process improvement with analytics and reporting, enabling teams to better understand performance and operational trends.

  • Maintains familiarity with tools and platforms used to support legal operations, such as matter management systems, document management platforms, and collaboration tools.

  • Collects and analyzes process and operational data to develop insights and recommend improvements to business practices and procedures.

  • Leads projects of moderate complexity that support business unit and departmental objectives.

Experience

  • 3 or more years of experience in business process improvement, consulting, legal operations, analytics, or a related field.

  • Experience working with stakeholders to identify, document, and improve operational processes.

  • Ability to work in environments where processes may not be clearly defined and translate operational needs into structured workflows.

  • Familiarity with legal or knowledge management systems such as matter management platforms, document management systems, or workflow automation tools.

  • Experience with platforms such as Tea.mConnect, LexisNexis, iManage, SharePoint, or similar tools is beneficial.

  • Exposure to workflow automation tools such as Power Automate or similar technologies.

  • Experience using data or analytics to support operational improvements.

  • Experience working with legal teams, corporate legal departments, or regulatory environments is helpful.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job does not have supervisory duties.
