About Truemed

Truemed is building the payment infrastructure for better health. Our platform helps qualified consumers use HSA/FSA funds on eligible health and wellness purchases while helping merchants unlock a powerful new growth channel through compliant eligibility and substantiation workflows. By removing the complexity around eligibility, compliance, and reimbursement, Truemed allows partners to offer seamless HSA/FSA purchasing experiences directly within their checkout flows.

More than a million people have used Truemed to put pre-tax dollars toward health purchases from brands like Peloton, NOBULL, Thorne, Garmin, and dozens more. On truemed.com, they can discover what else their HSA or FSA covers, all in one place.

Why This Role Matters

Most people meet Truemed at a merchant's checkout. They're buying a sauna, a treadmill, or a supplement, and along the way they learn their HSA or FSA can help pay for it. Lifecycle marketing is how that first purchase becomes a lasting relationship.

Many of our customers are still learning what their benefits can do. Every email and text is a chance to help. We can show them what else is eligible, remind them before their funds expire, and bring them back to truemed.com when they're ready for their next purchase.

We have a strong foundation to build on. That includes a weekly newsletter with a large, engaged audience, a product catalog connected to Klaviyo, and real-time events from our product that show where each customer is in their journey. This role will own that program and grow it.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role. Expect roughly 70% building and shipping and 30% strategy, testing, and reporting. You'll own email and SMS end to end. That means building the journeys, writing the copy, launching the sends, and reporting on what they drove.

You'll report to the Head of Consumer Marketing and work with Product Engineering on events and data, with Partner Marketing on merchant partner sends, and with Content on editorial.

We're open on level. Candidates with deeper experience owning a channel target and a roadmap will be considered for Senior.

What You'll Do

Customer journeys

  • Own Truemed's Klaviyo flows across the customer journey, including welcome and onboarding, post-purchase, cross-sell, win-back, and seasonal deadline reminders

  • Design the path that brings customers who first found us at a merchant's checkout back to truemed.com for their next purchase

  • Connect journeys to the events our product emits, such as a completed eligibility check or an issued letter of medical necessity, and partner with Product Engineering on new events

  • Build dynamic, personalized content with Klaviyo's template language and product catalog, so each customer sees products relevant to them

  • Keep the Klaviyo product catalog, which syncs from our Sanity CMS, accurate and fresh

Campaigns and content

  • Run the campaign calendar, including the Truemed Weekly newsletter, seasonal moments, and the year-end FSA deadline

  • Write the copy. Subject lines, preview text, body copy, and SMS, in Truemed's voice and inside the compliance guardrails of a health payments company

  • Build and QA emails in Stripo and Klaviyo, and edit HTML when a template needs it

  • Run partner-featured email and SMS sends with our merchant partners, and report back on how each one performed

SMS

  • Own the SMS program on Klaviyo, including campaigns, SMS journeys, consent capture, and TCPA compliance

  • Grow the SMS audience through on-site forms and the eligibility experience

Audience and on-site

  • Own segmentation, frequency, and deliverability so every customer hears from us at the right pace

  • Own lifecycle touchpoints on truemed.com, including signup forms and the Sanity-managed pages and product cards that emails link to

Measurement and testing

  • Run an always-on testing program covering subject lines, send times, content, and journey structure

  • Report on engagement, repeat purchase, and revenue by journey and campaign

  • Own the Email and SMS channel targets in our quarterly plan

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means:

  • Customers who first found Truemed at a merchant's checkout come back to truemed.com for a second purchase, and that share grows quarter over quarter

  • Every customer gets real value from hearing from us. They understand their benefits better, discover eligible products they didn't know about, and know when their funds are about to expire

  • Journeys meet customers at each stage, from first purchase to loyal repeat buyer, and drive a growing share of lifecycle revenue

  • Email and SMS hit or beat their channel targets while engagement and deliverability stay healthy

  • Merchant partners see clear results from the sends that feature them

  • Testing is a habit, and the program gets measurably better every quarter

Who You Are
  • Customer-first. You think about what each message gives the customer, not only what we want from it

  • A Klaviyo expert. You've built flows on custom events, used catalog data in templates, and know how to troubleshoot when something doesn't fire

  • Technical enough to work directly with engineers. You can read an event payload, write a clear spec, and use the API when it's the faster path

  • A strong writer. You can write a subject line that earns the click and explain HSA/FSA to someone who has never used theirs

  • Detail-oriented. You catch broken links, merge-tag errors, and rendering issues before a send goes out

  • Driven by data. You measure a send by what it drove, not its open rate

  • Excited to build in a fast-growing startup

  • Interested in health and wellness and in the brands on our marketplace

Qualifications
  • 4+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, ideally at a high-volume ecommerce, DTC, or marketplace business (6+ years for Senior)

  • A track record of growing repeat purchase rate or customer lifetime value through lifecycle programs

  • Deep, hands-on Klaviyo experience across flows, segments, custom events and metrics, catalog, SMS, and the template language

  • Experience running SMS programs, including consent and TCPA compliance

  • A portfolio of email and SMS copy you wrote yourself

  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email and of email builders like Stripo

  • Experience with lifecycle attribution, reporting, and structured A/B testing

Preferred

  • Experience with a headless CMS (Sanity strongly preferred; Contentful or similar)

  • SQL or BI experience (Omni, Looker, Snowflake)

  • Familiarity with the Klaviyo API, GTM, or on-site identity and tracking

  • Experience in health and wellness, fintech, or another regulated category (HSA/FSA experience is a strong plus)

  • Experience running brand-partner or co-branded campaigns

  • Comfort using AI tools to draft, build, and QA campaigns faster
