We are looking for a strategic and data-driven Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own our email and push notification efforts. This role will oversee our automation strategy from onboarding and nurturing, to engagement to winback for our newsletter and subscription businesses. This role will be accountable for KPIs including LTV, retention rate, churn rate along with open rate, click rate and unsubscribe rate.

This role will work closely with product, data and editorial to ensure that all automations are functional, accurate and on-brand.

What You’ll Do

  • Own all push & email marketing automated lifecycle flows across Sports Illustrated, FanSided, The Player’s Tribune and Mental Floss. These could include anything from onboarding, re-engagement, upsell, cross-sell and winback
  • Develop customer segmentation strategies to allow for more personalization
  • Design, execute and optimize transactional, promotional and engagement flows
  • Develop onboarding flows that maximize LTV and cross-promotion
  • Create winback campaigns for disengaging/dormant newsletter readers and churned premium subscribers
  • Implement A/B testing strategy for automations
  • Develop referral programs for our most engaged readers
  • Design campaigns that convert newsletter readers into premium subscribers

The expected salary range for this position is between $95,000 - $110,000. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, and location. The benefits available for this position include flexible vacation policy, 15 paid holidays, paid parental leave, health insurance, 401(k) with company match.

  • 5+ years of hands on experience in email marketing with a focus on automation.
  • 4+ years of experience working with a CDP (Piano or Blueconic a plus).
  • 4+ years of hands on experience with push notifications or SMS marketing.
  • A deep understanding in churn prevention and re-engagement.
  • Experience being accountable to KPIs such as LTV, retention rate, and conversion rate.
  • Experience in/ a passion for sports media a plus, but open to candidates with experience with subscriptions and ecommerce.
