an original design and proposal, and turning it into a functional system to install. The Designer provides
all documentation used for building the system. While the Lighting & Shade Control Designer should
understand and support all products lines sold by the company, their main role is to serve as the subject
matter expert for lighting & shade control.

The Home Experience Designer must possess an understanding of all AV systems while having a
distinct proficiency with lighting and shade control. They must also be able to read and construct
documentation such as house plans, elevations, and lighting diagrams, etc. Must pursue continuing
education on all systems with focused curriculum CE on lighting and shading control.

- Research product and make recommendations to the sales staff based on functionality.
- Produce documents to assist techs with installation including but not limited to plans, drawings,
- and elevations.
- Partner with Design and Sales team to ensure vision is achieved and all necessary aspects of
- functionality are included.
- Ensure requirements from other trades are specified on drawings, and communicated to PM.
- Create new and innovative ways to obtain desired results while adhering to budget and product
- constraints.
- Attend weekly design meetings with the other engineers to obtain feedback on design
- improvements.
- Review sales order, product lists and elevations with sales staff, PMs, and programmers as
- needed.
- Update project documentation, proposals, and change orders in job management software.
- Recommend products to bench test and demo before specifying into actual proposals.
- Contact vendor and industry experts regarding any new equipment or engineering issues.
- Provide remote support for other techs in the field.
- Occasionally travel to sites to witness systems in use.
- Provide training or communication to disseminate pertinent information to other techs in the field.
- Fiscal responsibility for all assets assigned and property within Designer’s care.
- Customer service, including ability to work with high profile and high demand customers.
- Guardianship and preservation of client confidentiality and network/home security.
- Adherence to state and federal laws, including adherence to traffic laws.

Experience working with lighting control platforms such as:
- Lutron
- Crestron
- Control4
- Savant
- Technical aptitude and attention to detail are paramount
- Position is remote work eligible
- Flexibility to meet customer demands outside of normal working hours
- May require standing or sitting for extended periods
- Valid in-state driver's license, clean driving record, and criminal background
