Lightning Labs is looking for a Lightning Evangelist who is passionate about bringing bitcoin to the next billion people with the Lightning Network. This role will be focused on growing and connecting with the global Lightning community including developers, founders, end users, and enthusiasts. The ideal candidate would have experience engaging with the bitcoin community, a track record of connecting with developers across the world, and a drive to continually improve the developer experience of building with Lightning.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lightning Community Engagement

    • Embed yourself in the global Lightning community, from end users to application builders to routing node operators to protocol developers. Understand their priorities and how Lightning Labs can help.

    • Attract new developers to the Lightning Network by connecting them with like-minded people exploring the possibilities of what can be built, highlighting community projects, and helping to organize opportunities for new developers to get involved.

    • Organize developer and community calls to communicate the latest updates from Lightning Labs, and help the product and engineering teams incorporate external feedback.

  • Business Development

    • Source new potential customers, from new Lightning-first developers to bitcoin technical teams that want to add Lightning support to existing companies that want to integrate stablecoins on Lightning into their products.

    • Support existing customers as a point of contact for issues with their software and by explaining new features and the business-related impacts of upgrading. 

    • Understand business goals, and connect potential or existing customers with ecosystem participants that will help them succeed.

Location: Global and remote. Proximity to US time zones preferred.

Requirements:

  • Passion for bitcoin, Lightning, and the mission of bringing financial freedom to the world.

  • Proactive and creative problem solver with a focus on solving real problems for real people.

  • Excellent communicator both externally regarding Lightning Labs’s technology and products, and internally regarding learnings from community discussions.

  • Comfortably tackles open‑ended problems, outlining clear hypotheses, iterating quickly, and measuring impact to guide next steps.

Preferred:

  • Experience presenting about bitcoin or Lightning at events such as conferences or meetups, on videos or podcasts, or writing relevant articles or other materials.

  • Experience working with emerging markets.
