About the Position

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all customer product deliveries and job site hauling operations to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective service. This role serves as the central point of communication between internal teams, drivers, and third-party vendors, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction across both product delivery and construction service functions for North Texas.

The Logistics Coordinator will also manage vendor logistics and relationships, including sourcing additional drivers through broker services, and reviewing and approving all related billing.


Directly Reports to: Supply Chain Director
Supervises: Commercial Truck Drivers and Dispatch Staff

Schedule: Available from 6AM-5PM Monday-Friday, Saturday Available if loads are scheduled, but not in office, unless needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery & Dispatch Management
    • Plan, schedule, and oversee all customer product deliveries.
    • Coordinate job site hauling activities to meet project timelines and service expectations.
    • Monitor daily dispatch operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and adherence to company policies.
    • Adjust schedules in real time to accommodate changes, delays, and urgent requests.
    • Continuously evaluate delivery and hauling operations to identify efficiencies across the entire workflow, including optimizing routes and maximizing asset utilization (e.g., coordinating backhauls by picking up job-site materials on return trips from customer deliveries)
  • Vendor & Driver Coordination
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external vendors and serve as the primary point of contact for third-party hauling vendors.
    • Ensure North Texas company owned drivers have support and everything they need.
  • Billing & Cost Control 
    • Review and approve vendor invoices related to hauling and delivery services.
    • Ensure accuracy of charges and alignment with agreed rates and services performed
  • Team Leadership & Communication Team Leadership & Communication
    • Supervise dispatch staff and drivers.
    • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback.
    • Serve as the communication hub between operations, sales, and field personnel.
    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers regarding delivery timelines and updates.
    • Participate in safety meetings and provide drivers with clear direction and support to maintain safe operation
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Approval schedule and time off requests for all company hired drivers.
    • Manage all the necessary POD and Driver paperwork.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Oversee accurate documentation of dispatch logs, delivery records, and vendor activity.
    • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
    • Use dispatch and logistics systems to track loads, routes, and driver activity.
    • Have an understanding and have the ability to obtain the necessary permits for delivery out of state for our company-owned drivers.
    • Participate in monthly safety meetings with DOT drivers, including presenting and engaging in discussions.
    • In the event of a vehicle incident, assist in preparing a report and consolidating all required information in accordance with established procedures. 
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation operations
  • Experience coordinating drivers, schedules, and high-volume workloads
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and safety practices
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel)

Preferred:

  • Experience in construction, hauling, recycling, or aggregate industries
  • Experience supervising dispatchers or drivers
  • Familiarity with permitting for transportation/logistics
  • CDL knowledge or practical exposure (not required)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while managing dispatch operations
  • Frequent communication via phone, computer, and radio systems
  • Ability to walk the yard and interact with drivers and equipment as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Work environment includes both office and outdoor exposure (heat, cold, dust, noise)
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with frequent interruptions
