Position Title: Mail Orderly (MO)
Location: Naval Station Rota, Spain
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, sort, and dispatch official and personal mail in compliance with DoD and USPS standards.
  • Assign and manage mail receptacles and virtual mailboxes for command personnel.
  • Maintain directory services, forwarding addresses, and locator files for all assigned patrons.
  • Ensure compliance with security procedures, including restricted access to UMR and regular lock/combination changes.
  • Transport mail to and from Fleet Mail Center (FMC) Rota using a government-owned vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 70 lbs; prolonged standing, walking, and bending required.
  • Knowledge/Skills:
  • Familiarity with DoD, OPNAV, NAVSUP, and USPS postal regulations.

  • Ability to maintain locator files, directories, and supportive material.

  • Experience with official and personal mail processing.

  • Licensing: Possess valid state and government driver’s licenses.
  • Training: Must complete Mail Orderly training from FMC Rota prior to assuming duties.
