The Managed Trade Services Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the execution of value-added trade compliance and managed services programs for a global client base. They are responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant processing of import/export activities in alignment with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements. They work with internal teams, customs brokers, and clients to deliver high-quality, timely compliance services. They contribute to operational excellence through a strong attention to detail, data integrity, and adherence to established procedures and service level expectations. They support continuous improvement initiatives and technology enhancements to advance Managed Trade Services (MTS) capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Execute daily Managed Trade Services activities, including HTS classification, customs valuation checks, PGA documentation coordination, and post-entry corrections.
- Prepare, review, and maintain compliance documentation such as 520(d) corrections, Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), protests, and entry audits.
- Ensure all work adheres to CBP regulations, PGA requirements, and internal quality and compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate records in internal systems, trackers, and client dashboards, ensuring timely updates and data integrity.
- Support internal and external audits by gathering required documentation, reviewing transactional data, and identifying discrepancies.
- Collaborate with trade analysts, brokers, operations teams, and clients to resolve issues and complete assigned compliance activities.
- Escalate potential compliance risks, irregularities, or complex issues to leadership in a timely manner.
- Assist with onboarding new clients, including collection of product data, classification inputs, templates, and historical import information.
- Provide day-to-day client support by responding to routine compliance inquiries and assisting with service deliverables.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending enhancements to workflows and controls.
- Support KPI tracking and reporting, ensuring visibility into service performance, accuracy, and productivity metrics.
- Participate in system and technology initiatives, including user acceptance testing and process validation for new tools or enhancements.
- Engage in ongoing training and knowledge development related to classification, valuation, origin determination, and regulatory updates.
- All other duties as assigned to meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, supply chain, or import/export operations highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, customs valuation, and PGA requirements (training will be provided).
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and clients.
- Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality in handling and protecting sensitive information.
- Technical: Proficient with common office technologies, including Windows PCs, Microsoft O365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and web conferencing (Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.)
- Environment: Comfort commuting to/from and working in a 100% on-site setting (listed in this posting), with travel for related meetings/events.
