Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal to join our Management Consulting team! In this role, you will drive new business while also delivering high-impact consulting engagements in the telecommunications sector. This is a hybrid sales + delivery role, ideal for someone who thrives on building client relationships, closing deals, and leading complex engagements end-to-end. You will be a key member of Cartesian’s leadership team, responsible for shaping strategy, delivering value, and driving revenue growth through new and existing accounts.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development efforts: identify, pursue, and close new consulting engagements with telecommunications clients (target: $1–2M annually)
- Develop and manage relationships with C-level and VP-level client stakeholders
- Shape proposals, SOWs, and go-to-market strategies in collaboration with Cartesian leadership
- Develop thought leadership to position Cartesian as a partner of choice for new and existing clients
- Lead project delivery: ensure high-quality outcomes, value-based delivery, and high client satisfaction
- Guide program governance, stakeholder engagement, and financial oversight for active engagements
- Serve as a trusted advisor to telecommunications clients, offering insights on industry trends and transformation strategies
- Guide and mentor consulting teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of management consulting experience, including 5+ years in the telecommunications sector
- Proven ability to generate and grow revenue (ideally with targets of $1-$2Mannually) with consulting clients
- Experience leading large-scale initiatives involving 5G, fiber deployment, OSS/BSS, network transformation, customer experience, or digital enablement in the telecommunication industry
- Demonstrated ability to both sell and deliver strategic consulting engagements
- Experience navigating enterprise sales cycles and working within telecommunications client procurement models
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Motivated by revenue goals and delivery ownership
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree
- Experience with telecom-specific technologies (e.g., OSS/BSS, 5G, AI/ML, cloud platforms)
- Familiarity with 5G, fiber deployment, or telecom regulatory frameworks
- Experience with margin-based compensation models
- Prior experience at a Big Four or boutique consulting firm.
