The Role:

The Manager, Accounting Technology Solutions is a senior contributor within the Accounting organization, responsible for designing and implementing industry- and client-specific accounting technology solutions. This role focuses on the practical application of firm-approved tools and standards to solve real-world accounting challenges, improve efficiency, and enable high-quality client delivery.

The role partners closely with engagement teams, industry accounting leaders, and the Graphite’s Standards & Technology (GST) team. 


What You'll Do:

Accounting Technology Solutions & Delivery
  • Serve as the primary accounting technology subject matter expert for industry- and client-specific use cases within the accounting department.
  • Design, configure, and implement for specific clients, accounting technology solutions using firm-approved platforms and tools, as uncovered via request, QA process, or onboarding.
  • Translate accounting and industry requirements into practical workflows, templates, automations, and configurations. Some work done in collaboration with GST. 
  • Support engagement teams in resolving complex accounting technology challenges.
  • Maintain documentation for industry-specific accounting technology solutions and best practices.
Collaboration with Standards & Technology
  • Partner with GST team to ensure alignment with firm-wide standards, platforms, and guardrails.
  • Identify gaps or limitations in existing tools or process based on industry and client needs and escalate enhancement opportunities.
  • To the extent new workflows, templates or automations need to be created with no outside company addressing the challenge, collaborate with GST team to create easy to use and high value tools for broad use within the accounting team.
  • Participate in pilots or proofs of concept for potential firm-wide solutions, as requested.
  • Ensure all solutions comply with technology, risk, and control requirements.
Enablement & Continuous Improvement
  • As part of Graphite’s overall training program, deliver industry-specific training and guidance on accounting technology solutions to accounting teams.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices across the accounting organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability within accounting processes.
  • Stay current on accounting-related technology trends relevant to assigned industries.


What You'll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Information Systems (MIS). A dual degree or minor in Data Analytics is a significant plus.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on Accounting Systems, Financial Operations, or Digital Transformation.
  • Technical Stack:
    • ERP Expertise: Advanced proficiency in platforms like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
    • Automation Tools: Experience with "No-Code/Low-Code" tools such as Alteryx, Zapier, or Microsoft Power Automate.
    • Close Management: Familiarity BlackLine, FloQast, or similar month-end close software.
  • The "Workflow Architect" Mindset: Ability to map out a manual accounting process and redesign it for maximum efficiency and auditability.
  • Hands-on experience reconciling Stripe collections and implementing practical solutions to support accurate revenue recognition. 
  • Industry Knowledge: Proven experience solving accounting challenges for specific verticals (e.g., SaaS, Retail, or Professional Services).


Preferred Certifications (Not Required but preferred)

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant): Highly preferred to ensure high-level accounting standards are met.
  • Software-Specific Certifications: Such as a NetSuite Certified ERP Consultant or Sage Intacct Implementation Specialist.
  • Project Management: PMP or Agile certifications are a plus for managing client implementations.
