The Strategy team acts as the compass of the organization, charting the course for the future growth and market leadership through insightful analysis, innovative thinking, and strategic planning. We identify, assess, and help drive strategic initiative that propel the company towards achieving its long-term goals, while we navigate the complexities of an ever-evolving business landscape. As the leader of the Data & Analytics arm, you will lead a team to harness our data to support strategic planning, build predictive models to recommend actions and decisions, and provide critical insights for prioritizing growth opportunities.

The Impact You Will Make Here

Develop, execute and continuously evolve data and analytics strategy for TCGplayer in collaboration with internal and external business stakeholders in a scalable way that supports business objectives

Develop quantitative analyses and predictive models to project impact of strategic decisions

Establish hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to interpret results and draw actionable conclusions

Work closely with data engineering team to optimize for a data infrastructure needed to support an advanced analytics and insights platform and ensure data governance

Lead, mentor and oversee team of data analysts and external service providers; ability to both lead a team and be hands-on
-
Enable objective decision making across the company by democratizing data through dashboards and other analytical tools

Present findings in a compelling way to influence leadership and cross-functionally
What You Bring to the Team
-
Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (e.g., business analytics, data science, mathematics, statistics) or equivalent experience. Master’s or PhD degree a plus

8+ years of experience in data and analytics
-
Strong proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (Python or R), fluent in SQL (bonus points for proficiency in dbt!), and experience with machine learning frameworks

Experience for building and managing cloud-based analytics solutions such as Looker or Tableau

Deep expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques

Proven leadership experience mentoring and developing teams of data scientists, data engineers, and data architects

Ability to translate business needs into analytical frameworks and data insights

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at a senior level
