You’ll lead our cross-functional Customer & Application team, which owns the user experience of prospective customers from their first visit through a submitted application. It’s the front door of our business and the initial source of truth for many downstream systems, making your team a central coordination point across Engineering, Product, and Quality Assurance.
This is a hands-on role for a leader who cares about full-stack software engineering, from React front ends to event-driven microservice back ends, and cross-team systems thinking that ties it all together.
What You’ll Own:
- Leadership of the cross-functional team, directly managing software engineers while leading a delivery team that also includes SDETs a Product Owner, and a Security partner
- Partnership with Product Management on roadmap and priorities, balancing business outcomes with technical health and maintainability
- Delivery of the roadmap from solutioning through to validation, including new product lines and migration from legacy to new platforms
- Adoption of Agile processes and SDLC optimizations, driving continuous improvement in coordination with other teams and stakeholders
- AI Acceleration, expanding utilization of existing tools and piloting new tools to measurably improve engineer productivity and team throughput
- Mentorship and growth of your engineers in an inclusive, psychologically safe team culture where everyone is growing and thriving in their careers
- Coordination between other development teams and shared services teams including Platform and Security.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and 4+ managing engineers; still comfortable in the code and familiar with CI/CD pipelines
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools in production workflows and informed views on AI in regulated financial services
- Track record leading teams whose success depends on tight cross-team coordination and high quality delivery
- Strong full-stack background with some combination of Java, Ruby, Javascript, and React and experience with microservice-based architectures on AWS or GCP
- Fluency with Agile delivery, preferably with scaled models such as SAFe
- Positive attitude and exemplary communication skills
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing engineers
- Experience as an Agile Scrum Master / Team Coach on a cross-functional team is preferred
- A thoughtful people leader: mentorship, equitable calibration, conflict resolution, sponsorship of underrepresented team members
