ABOUT THE ROLE

The Fintech Implementation Manager position is responsible for managing the implementation and launch of fintech programs, from initial design scope through go-live. This role sits within Enterprise Compliance, serving as the day-to-day program owner for assigned client and partner implementations, driving each engagement from kickoff through testing and launch, and working cross-functionally with internal teams (Business Development, Compliance, BSA/AML, Data, Partner Services, Legal, and Operations) and external partners to ensure seamless execution, clear communication, and operational readiness. The Fintech Implementations Manager ensures that requirements from each functional area are incorporated into the implementation plan at the right stages, without owning the underlying subject-matter expertise directly. This is an individual contributor role that requires strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a proactive mindset to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Serve as the day-to-day program owner and main point of contact for assigned fintech client onboarding engagements, from kickoff through implementation, testing, and go-live.
  • Build and maintain detailed onboarding implementation plans for assigned clients, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resource needs across involved workstreams.
  • Lead onboarding kick-off and recurring status meetings with clients and internal stakeholders for assigned engagements, tracking progress against deadlines and surfacing blockers early.
  • Coordinate with Compliance, BSA/AML, Risk, Legal, Operations, Fintech, and Technology stakeholders to ensure each workstream's requirements and deliverables are incorporated into the client's implementation plan at the appropriate stage.
  • Partner with subject-matter experts to translate regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., BSA/AML/KYC, UDAAP, Reg E, Reg Z, EFTA, TILA, FCRA, state money transmission and lending laws) into concrete program tasks and checkpoints for assigned engagements, without owning the underlying regulatory interpretation.
  • Apply the established onboarding program framework and playbook consistently across assigned client engagements and share feedback with program leadership to support continuous improvement.
  • Support pre-launch readiness reviews and go/no-go discussions for assigned engagements, coordinating input from the relevant subject-matter experts.
  • Provide regular status reporting on assigned implementation engagements, including risk and delay flags, and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
  • Maintain and deliver onboarding program documentation for assigned implementation, including implementation plans, RAID logs, milestone trackers, and post implementation Account Management handoff list.
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for fintech clients during implementation, helping them navigate MVB's process, requirements, and timelines.
  • Support audit and examination requests related to assigned client Implementations, including coordinating responses and tracking remediation items.
  • Contribute feedback and lessons learned to help refine the implementation process and partner experience.
  • Participate in cross-functional working sessions related to fintech partner implementations and onboarding, as assigned.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and support multiple implementations simultaneously.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program or project implementation management within financial services, with direct exposure to fintech, payments, Banking-as-a-Service, sponsor and/or issuing bank, or bank-fintech partnership models.
  • Experience managing client-facing implementation or onboarding engagements within a regulated financial institution strongly preferred, ideally from within an issuing/sponsor bank — including familiarity with card issuing, program management, and the bank-side onboarding process for fintech partners.
  • Working familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements as they relate to a regulated financial institution, applicable to fintech client relationships, sufficient to coordinate with subject-matter experts (formal compliance certification not required).
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent client onboarding engagements and competing priorities.
  • Ability to coordinate across diverse cross-functional stakeholders (Compliance, BSA/AML, Risk, Legal, Operations, Technology) and drive alignment toward a shared timeline.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to build trust and manage expectations with fintech partners and external stakeholders throughout onboarding.
  • Ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements gathered from subject-matter experts into practical program tasks, milestones, and checkpoints.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, comfortable working cross-functionally and with external partners and clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in identifying and escalating program risks and delays.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey program status and requirements clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, internally and externally.
  • High degree of professional integrity and sound judgment when handling sensitive or confidential client information.
  • PMP or similar project/program management certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet or Jira) is helpful.
