Job Description

  • Perform Service Recovery & Administration of IBM MQ, Connect Direct and Apache Kafka to ensure minimal downtime and business continuity.
  • Monitor and ensure availability, performance, and security of Middleware platforms.
  • Conduct Disaster Recovery (DR) testing in coordination with business and infrastructure teams.
  • Involved in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for critical incidents.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support during assigned shifts and respond to severity 1 incidents under pressure.
  • Troubleshoot issues in MQ, Kafka streaming, and Connect:Direct file transfers across production and DR environments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity and data transfer issues.
  • Worked with L1 in monitoring system performance and proactively address potential issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
  • At least 4 years of experience in IBM MQ, IBM Connect Direct
  • At least 2 years of experience in Kafka
  • Good knowledge in shell scripting
  • Experience working in a bank is a plus
  • Experience in Monitoring tools like splunk, Geneos, Grafana is a plus
  • Experience with Linux System is a plus

Technical Skills & Expertise:

  • Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Unix, Microsoft Windows
  • Middleware Systems:
    • IBM MQ (Distributed), IBM Connect:Direct (NDM), Apache Kafka.
  • High Availability & Clustering:  MQ RDQM, Kafka clusters, HA and DR setup.
  • Security: MQ SSL/TLS configuration, Connect:Direct secure transfers, Kafka authentication & authorization.
  • Scripting: Shell/Perl/Python scripting for automation of MQ, Kafka, and Connect:Direct tasks.
  • Monitoring Tools: Splunk, Kafka monitoring tools (Confluent Control Center,  Grafana).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, incident management, and RCA methodologies
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage critical incidents.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders during high-impact incidents and recovery efforts.
  • File Transfer solutions (SFTP, MFT,Control M) knowledge is a plus.
  • VMWare knowledge is a plus.
