Job Summary


The Manager, Operational Technology (OT) Infrastructure is responsible for the strategy, architecture, deployment, security, and operational support of OT infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations across all facilities. This role will be the leader in the design and management of industrial networks, plant-floor connectivity, smart manufacturing technologies and machine deployments, and associated OT systems that enable reliable and secure production operations.


The position serves as the primary bridge between Information Technology (IT), Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Controls, Maintenance, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure OT infrastructure supports business objectives while maintaining operational continuity and security.


This role is remote within the following states: AZ, FL, GA, IL, KS, NC, NE, MI, MA, SD, TN, TX, WI, and WY. Candidates may reside in or relocate to any of these states. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:


OT Infrastructure Leadership

  • Develop and maintain the OT network infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
  • Lead OT network infrastructure projects from planning through deployment.
  • Establish standards for industrial networking and connectivity.
  • Manage OT network infrastructure budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to OT network technical staff.

Industrial Network Management

  • Design, deploy, and support industrial Ethernet networks.
  • Maintain manufacturing LAN, wireless, and remote connectivity solutions.
  • Ensure reliable communication between:
    • PLCs
    • HMIs
    • SCADA systems
    • MES platforms
    • Historians
    • Edge computing platforms
    • Smart sensors and IIoT devices

Smart Factory Enablement

  • Support Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Implement infrastructure for smart manufacturing solutions.
  • Enable machine-to-machine communications.
  • Support IoT and Industrial IoT deployments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on automation projects.

OT Cybersecurity

  • Partner with cybersecurity team to:
    • Protect OT environments.
    • Ensure OT network segmentation and secure architecture.
    • Support compliance with OT security frameworks.
    • Coordinate vulnerability remediation activities.
    • Participate in OT incident response activities.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop monitoring and alerting capabilities for OT infrastructure.
  • Establish service level objectives for manufacturing systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis and incident reviews.
  • Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
  • Implement asset lifecycle management processes.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years supporting infrastructure, networking, or OT environments.
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting industrial control systems.

 

Technical Knowledge

Strong understanding of:

  • Industrial Ethernet
  • Cisco or Fortinet networking
  • VLANs and routing
  • Wireless technologies
  • Industrial switches
  • PLC communications
  • SCADA systems
  • MES platforms
  • OT cybersecurity
  • Network monitoring tools
  • Remote access technologies

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with smart factory initiatives.
  • Experience with OT cybersecurity programs.
  • Fortinet certifications.
  • Cisco certifications.
  • ISA/IEC 62443 familiarity.
  • Industrial automation experience.
  • Ignition SCADA
