About the team

Roku’s Media Distribution team drives performance across the Roku ecosystem—on and off platform—by leveraging data-driven insights and backend infrastructure expertise. We demonstrate operational excellence by translating cross-functional narratives into clear, actionable strategies, and we maintain a continuous feedback loop that keeps budget stakeholders informed and empowered to shape future initiatives. The Media Distribution team sits within the Consumer Marketing Organization (CMO), which is responsible for driving the growth of Roku’s owned-and-operated services through strategic marketing campaigns that tell compelling stories about the Roku experience and its offerings. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your work has a real impact on the Roku business. 


About the role

As Performance Media Team Manager, you will lead a team of four Performance Media Managers responsible for developing and executing on-platform media strategies that drive streaming hours, subscriptions, and engagement. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise in performance marketing, ensuring operational excellence and fostering a high-performing team culture. This role sits under the Media Distribution team, who are responsible for optimizing both on- and off-platform marketing tactics. This role will mentor 3 to 4 direct reports, work across multiple teams, manage team capacity, and be comfortable with Roku data to deliver the best for the Consumer Marketing Organization.  


What you'll be doing
  • Team Leadership & Development 
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of four Performance Media Managers. 
    • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and create growth opportunities for team members. 
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture aligned with Roku’s values. 
  • Strategic Oversight 
    • Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive media strategies across Roku’s owned and operated media channels. 
    • Ensure campaigns are optimized for KPIs such as streaming hours, subscriptions, and engagement. 
    • Translate business objectives into actionable plans for the team. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration 
    • Partner with marketing, creative, product, ad operations, and analytics teams to implement best practices. 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership on media performance and team progress. 
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting 
    • Guide the team in leveraging analytics tools (Tableau, Looker, Google Analytics) to extract insights and optimize campaigns. 
    • Present performance updates and strategic recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership. 
  • Operational Excellence 
    • Ensure accurate campaign tracking and reporting. 
    • Maintain compliance with marketing and advertising ethics, including privacy laws and evolving industry standards. 

We're excited if you have
  • In-depth understanding of the Streaming TV landscape 
  • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing performance, marketing, or data teams. 
  • Strong background in performance marketing and media planning, ideally in streaming or entertainment. 
  • Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.  
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Tableau, Looker, and Google Analytics. 
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight timelines. 
  • Experience in making data-driven marketing decisions to improve and optimize campaigns
