The Manager, Platform Engineering, is responsible for leading platform development, maintenance, and support across enterprise systems. This role involves managing technical teams, resolving complex platform issues, implementing infrastructure projects and developing technical standards. The individual collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure the effective deployment of new technologies and maintains high service levels through continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

  • Manages the resolution of the most complex platform issues elevated from staff and clients.

  • Manages technical support staff who implement, monitor, troubleshoot, and install platforms across all systems. Plans, develops, and executes short range goals and strategies to meet department, divisional, and corporate objectives.

  • Develops and implements changes to department policies and standard operating procedures to meet changing business needs. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. Leads quality initiatives to improve the delivery of service levels.

  • Responsible for delivering hardware and software maintenance and ensuring maintenance of critical technology is completed. Collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and maintain standards for platforms. Implements new technologies for enterprise-wide infrastructure projects.

  • Develops technical standards to serve Vanguard technical needs. Manages the ongoing performance of IT vendor products and services

  • Learns and understands client area business functions and requirements. Determines the appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years related work experience.

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
