Position Summary

The Sales Training Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the training and development strategy for Statewide Remodeling's In-Home Sales organization. This role ensures that new and existing Sales Consultants, Sales Managers, and Sales Leaders receive the knowledge, coaching, and resources necessary to consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences while achieving sales performance goals.

The Sales Training Manager partners closely with Sales Leadership to identify performance gaps, reinforce best practices, improve closing effectiveness, increase average ticket size, shorten ramp-up time for new hires, and support organizational growth through world-class training programs.

This position requires extensive travel to local markets throughout the Statewide Remodeling footprint.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy & Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales training strategy aligned with company objectives.

  • Design onboarding programs for newly hired Sales Consultants.

  • Build advanced learning paths for experienced sales professionals.

  • Create leadership development programs for Sales Managers.

  • Develop instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced learning content.

  • Maintain all sales training materials, playbooks, presentations, videos, and job aids.

New Hire Training

  • Responsible for the interviewing and hiring of sales reps.

  • Facilitate all new hire sales onboarding.

  • Teach company products, sales process, financing options, CRM systems, compliance requirements, and customer experience expectations.

  • Evaluate trainee readiness before independent selling.

  • Monitor new hire performance during the first 90 days and provide additional coaching as needed.

Field Coaching

  • Travel regularly to regional markets to observe in-home sales appointments.

  • Conduct ride-alongs and field observations.

  • Coach Sales Consultants on:

  • Needs assessment

  • Product presentation

  • Objection handling

  • Closing techniques

  • Financing conversations

  • Customer communication

  • Professionalism

  • Provide individualized development plans.

Sales Performance Improvement

Partner with Sales Leadership to improve:

  • Close rates

  • Revenue per lead

  • Average contract value

  • Lead conversion

  • Financing penetration

  • Customer satisfaction

  • Sales process consistency

Analyze sales metrics to identify skill gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.

Leadership Partnership

Partner with:

  • Regional Sales Director

  • Sales Managers

  • Recruiting

  • Marketing

  • Operations

Provide recommendations regarding:

  • Training priorities

  • Coaching opportunities

  • New product launches

  • Process improvements

  • Talent readiness

Learning Content Development

Develop and maintain:

  • Sales playbooks

  • Product training guides

  • Competitive selling tools

  • Video learning modules

  • Role-play scenarios

  • Certification programs

  • Knowledge assessments

  • Manager coaching guides

Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate training effectiveness using sales performance data.

  • Gather participant feedback to improve learning programs.

  • Stay current on adult learning methodologies and residential home improvement sales best practices.

  • Recommend innovative training technologies and learning solutions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Education, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of successful residential in-home sales experience

  • 3+ years of sales training, coaching, or leadership experience

  • Experience interviewing and selecting new employees

  • Experience designing and facilitating adult learning programs

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

  • Experience analyzing sales metrics and performance data

  • Ability to travel up to 60%

Preferred

  • Home improvement industry experience

  • Window, siding, roofing, bath, or home remodeling experience

  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems

  • Instructional design experience

  • Professional training certification (ATD, CPTD, etc.)
