ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineering Manager to lead the strategy, implementation, and management of our security engineering initiatives. In this role, you will own the security architecture vision and drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust security solutions that protect our systems, data, and infrastructure. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and other stakeholders to build scalable, enterprise-grade security platforms while leading and developing a high-performing security engineering team.
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute security engineering strategy, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap
- Conduct security assessments and threat analysis to identify vulnerabilities and inform security decisions
- Generate insights and actionable recommendations aligned to business goals and security objectives
- Balance day-to-day security operations with long-term security architecture vision
Security Engineering & Implementation
- Own security solutions throughout the entire development and deployment lifecycle
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to integrate security controls, APIs, and monitoring systems
- Design and implement security tooling, automation, and infrastructure-as-code solutions
- Drive security initiatives and coordinate cross-functional delivery of security projects
Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of security engineers and specialists
- Build and maintain strong relationships across internal teams and external security partners
- Facilitate effective security reviews, incident response, and stakeholder communications
- Serve as primary point of contact for security engineering initiatives
Security Operations & Monitoring
- Define and measure security metrics, KPIs, and success criteria for security controls
- Leverage security analytics and monitoring tools to drive continuous improvement
- Monitor security posture, threat landscape, and incident response effectiveness
- Use threat intelligence to inform security roadmap and control prioritization
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of security engineering or cybersecurity experience
- 3+ years of team leadership or management experience
- Demonstrated success implementing security solutions at enterprise scale
- Experience working in agile development environments and DevSecOps practices
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of security frameworks, threat modeling, and secure coding practices
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, and endpoint protection
- Deep knowledge of cloud security, container security, and infrastructure security
- Experience with security automation, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Strong analytical skills with experience using security analytics platforms and incident response tools
Core Competencies
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple security initiatives in fast-paced environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to security detail
- Strategic mindset with capability to navigate security challenges while delivering business value
- Experience influencing stakeholders without direct authority on security matters
- Strong decision-making skills with ability to balance security requirements with business needs
- Advanced degree in cybersecurity, information security, or related field
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent
- Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.)
- Background in financial services, fintech, or highly regulated industries
- Experience with security incident response and forensics
- Knowledge of threat hunting, penetration testing, and red team exercises
- Track record of building security programs from conception to maturity

Salary Range
$127,200-$159,000The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
