  • Prioritize and deliver – Use data and measurable outcomes to inform prioritization of work, evaluate tradeoffs, improve team performance, and ensure engineering effort is focused on the highest-value priorities.
  • Own operational health – Use operational data and engineering metrics to understand system health, identified opportunities for improvement, and ensure applications and services are reliable, supportable, and effectively operated.
  • Own engineering risk and security – Ensure vulnerabilities, technical debt, lifecycle risks, controls, and other engineering risks are understood, prioritized, and addressed.
  • Communicate and align – Provide senior leadership and stakeholders with clear, data-informed visibility into priorities, delivery, performance, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing software engineering teams, including coaching, performance management, and building technical capability.
  • Strong software engineering background with the technical judgement to guide architecture, engineering practices, operational reliability, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Working knowledge of AI-assisted software engineering practices and emerging agentic development approaches.
  • Strong software engineering background with hands-on development experience with C#/.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and Snowflake, with the ability and willingness to contribute directly to code when needed.
  • Experience translating business and product priorities into engineering direction, priorities, and executable plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to understand performance, identify opportunities, and inform decisions.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for production applications, including operational support, reliability, security, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to communicate technical topics, priorities, risks, and tradeoffs to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
