At Aeon, we develop advanced missile systems, built for ground and air platforms. We take pride in our dynamic team that allows us to iterate, build and test quickly. If you are looking to solve hard problems with a passionate team in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, Aeon is the place for you.

We are a vertically integrated defense manufacturer developing and producing advanced strike systems and critical subsystems at industrial scale for major defense programs. From its 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, Aeon will bring weapon design and production under one roof, including propulsion, fuzing, autonomy and other critical subsystems. Led by former special operators, senior government officials and experienced aerospace and defense engineers, Aeon is a trusted partner to U.S. government customers and industry.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help build a world-class manufacturing organization as we transition from new product introduction (NPI) and development into full-rate production of complex guided-munition subassemblies and final assemblies. Reporting through the Vice President of Manufacturing, you will define and implement the manufacturing systems, processes, and standards required to support production in an AS9100-regulated environment. As a true builder, you will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, product engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to transform designs from concept and prototype through production-ready status, driving manufacturing readiness, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time, in-person role located in Austin, TX with plans to move to Cedar Park, TX early 2027.

What you’ll do at Aeon:

    • Lead component- and assembly-level DFM/DFA review during early design phases (EVT/concept), ensuring designs are manufacturable before they reach build

    • Own and facilitate PFMEA development as a living document from concept design review through production validation

    • Develop and mature control plans in coordination with Quality Engineering

    • Design and specify tooling, fixtures, and workstations using Siemens NX; manage CAD submission and revision control for tooling

    • Define process flows, cycle times, and station/line balancing for subsystem and final assembly builds

    • Configure and maintain digital work instructions and process steps in the MES, including device/equipment triggers (torque tools, sensors, light-guided assembly, robotics)

    • Perform IQ, OQ, PQ on installed equipment and processes, establishing repeatable, documented processes

    • Participate in project technical reviews for manufacturing readiness

    • Support root-cause investigation and corrective action for process-related nonconformances

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering

    • Demonstrated experience with DFM/DFA, Process Design, PFMEA, and control plan development

    • Proficiency in Siemens NX for tooling/fixture design

    • Experience with an MES platform (Tulip or similar)

    • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing, early-stage environment and building processes rather than executing existing ones

    • Strong communicator, able to work cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Quality, and Production

While it’s not required, it would be an added plus if you have:

    • Experience in aerospace/defense or another regulated, complex-assembly manufacturing environment

    • Familiarity with AS9145/APQP or similar structured NPI gate processes

    • Background supporting IQ/OQ/PQ activities

What We Offer:

Fully Company-Sponsored Health Benefits: Enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage at no cost to you, including coverage for eligible dependents, plus HSA and FSA options.

Team Events & Company Celebrations: Connect with colleagues through team-building activities, employee events, and celebrations.

Complimentary Daily Lunches: Enjoy company provided lunches served onsite each workday.

Snacks & Beverages: Enjoy complementary snacks, drinks, and refreshments available throughout the workday.

Equal Employment Opportunity & Disclaimer:

Requires U.S. person status under ITAR (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected non‑citizen such as refugee/asylee) due to access to ITAR‑controlled defense articles or technical data.
