The Manufacturing Engineer will be based in Austin, TX and will support the team at the Flex Austin site. The ME will design, deploy, launch and sustain manufacturing production lines for industrial equipment, machinery, and power equipment. The ME will work on the production floor as needed to ensure our products are produced safely, at the highest quality, delivered on time, and while maximizing efficiency.
Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
- Design, deploy, launch and sustain manufacturing production lines for industrial equipment, machinery, and power equipment.
- Will develop, implement and maintain manufacturing methods / detailed visual work instructions.
- Will be responsible for identifying and implementing manufacturing process improvements to improve productivity, workmanship and overall quality of the product.
- Will support implementing manufacturing procedures per customer specifications ECN-Engineering Change Notices.
- Will develop, organize and update manufacturing work areas, material flow, documentation and system setups for new products and features.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
- BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree required
- Must have 4+ years of experience in engineering specific role
- Experience in developing Manufacturing Procedures, Shop floor system setups, and evaluation / purchase of Assembly equipment and tools.
- Experience in identifying and implementing manufacturing process improvements to improve productivity, workmanship and overall quality of the product
- Experience in Lean Kaizen activities
- Knowledge of MRP and Shop Floor Manufacturing systems
- Individual must be a quick learner and be effective at working in a multi-tasking environment.
- Ability to perform job assignments with minimal supervision.
- Experience in Excel and Minitab
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, design drawings and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

- Training Technicians and Operators on new products, processes and equipment.
- Ability to support on call availability
- Analyze data and take appropriate action to meet KPI targets
- Lean Green Belt Certification
- Experience with SolidWorks preferred
