We’re a team of expert engineers responsible for the development of all test cases and test tools to ensure the functionality and compatibility of our products. We’re involved in the whole testing process from preparing test and diagnostic programs to recommending changes in testing equipment procedures and designing new testing equipment.

What you’ll achieve

In this position as Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will be responsible for performing advanced technical and engineering duties to design, validate, and continuously improve test procedures that enhance product quality and operational performance. The role is critical in successfully introducing new products into the manufacturing environment, driving seamless integration while maintaining high standards of reliability and efficiency You will work with a highly collaborative cross-functional team in manufacturing supporting Client, Server and AI lines of business.

You will:

  • Develop and implement effective solutions to maintain workflow continuity and minimize production delays.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to drive permanent fixes and long‑term process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues beyond core server/workstation scope, demonstrating adaptability and broad technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with Test/IT teams to review, validate, and optimize factory test scripts.
  • Participate and lead reviews to identify root causes of test anomalies.

  • Strong technical expertise in hardware and software testing – skilled in burn‑in, functional, and diagnostic test methodologies for complex PC systems.
  • Root cause analysis and problem‑solving ability – adept at investigating test failures, identifying systemic issues, and implementing permanent corrective actions.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration skills – proven ability to work with engineering, diagnostics, IT, and sales teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Process optimization mindset – focused on enhancing test efficiency, reducing cycle times, and ensuring seamless introduction of new products into manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent manufacturing test engineering experience.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in continuous improvement
  • Experience in driving innovation in manufacturing test environments

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The salary range for this position is ​129,200 to $167,200.
