About the role

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Lead Instructional Designer - Associate to drive the design, development, and implementation of high-impact learning solutions within the Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Team. In this role, you will not only design scalable eLearning, instructor-led, and blended learning solutions aligned with key business objectives, but you will also lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of instructional designers.

As a key partner to the business, you will proactively manage stakeholder engagement across various departments—aligning expectations, navigating complex priorities, and securing buy-in from business leaders and subject matter experts. You will oversee the team's project pipeline, manage resources effectively, and ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, excels at navigating ambiguity, and possesses the leadership and relationship-management skills to translate complex business needs into cohesive, impactful learning experiences.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of instructional designers. Provide ongoing coaching, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Management: Proactively manage stakeholder engagement by establishing open communication channels, aligning expectations, navigating conflicting priorities, and securing buy-in from business leaders, process owners, and cross-functional partners.
  • Project & Resource Management: Oversee the team's project pipeline, allocate resources effectively to optimize productivity, and ensure all learning deliverables meet quality standards, brand guidelines, and project deadlines.
  • Learning Solution Design: Design and implement scalable learning solutions that directly enhance the capabilities of our learners, driving key business objectives such as client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough Needs Analysis to identify skill and knowledge gaps, document business requirements, and draft measurable learning objectives.
  • Instructional Design Application: Apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Gagne's Nine Events) to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive learning solutions (eLearning, Instructor-Led, Blended Learning, Videos & Simulations, etc.).
  • Content Development: Utilize authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite to build engaging learning content.
  • LMS Management: Manage learning content within the firm's Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring proper deployment, tracking, and reporting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance and improve existing learning content and partner with facilitators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with process owners, SMEs, legal, and compliance to ensure content is accurate, relevant, compliant, and effective.
  • Innovation & Best Practices: Stay current with trends and innovations in learning technology and instructional design, advocating for and integrating new approaches to enhance our learning ecosystem.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing a team of instructional designers or learning professionals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, influence decision-making, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Instructional Design Expertise: Deep knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE/SAM) and adult learning theory.
  • Certification: Active Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) or Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) credential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with eLearning authoring tools, especially the Articulate 360 Suite (Storyline, Rise).
  • Strategic Execution: Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and work autonomously, translating high-level strategic direction into concrete project plans and deliverables for the team.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in an instructional design role, with at least 2 years in a corporate or financial services setting.
