Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a Market Development Executive (MDE), US Army and USSOCOM who will report to the Vice President of Strategic Growth on the Sales team. The successful individual in this role will be responsible for the dual-mission of shaping requirements across both the U.S. Army and U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) enterprises. The focus is on embedding Silvus Technologies into the future Programs of Record for both conventional Army modernization and specialized Special Operations Forces (SOF) mission sets.
This role focuses on shaping demand and cultivating enduring advocacy for Silvus Technologies - enabling downstream capture and sales success by the Business Development and Account Sales teams. This position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location with a preference for close proximity to key U.S. Army or USSOCOM commands.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Shaping and Strategic Engagement
- Joint Network Leveraging: Utilize a senior-level network across USSOCOM (USASOC, AFSOC, NSW, MARSOC) and the U.S. Army (PEOs, PMs, TRADOC, Futures Command) to sponsor Silvus capabilities.
- Requirements Influence: Drive early visibility for Silvus in emerging Army Programs of Record and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) opportunities, as well as SOF Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (AT&L) insertions and rapid fielding initiatives.
- AT&L technology insertions and rapid fielding initiatives.
- Technical Positioning: Align Silvus technologies with Army concepts (JADC2, Unified Network, Transformation in Contact) and SOF operational imperatives (low-SWaP, resilient, multi-band edge networking in contested environments).
Strategic Coordination
- Serve as the senior “market anchor” for USSOCOM, coordinating a team-based pursuit model across Strategic Growth, DoD Account Sales, and OEM/Prime Sales.
- Market Anchor: Serve as the senior lead for both the Army and USSOCOM, coordinating pursuit models across Strategic Growth, DoD Account Sales, and OEM/Prime Sales.
- Align internal Engineering and Product teams to deliver pursuit strategies that meet both the large-scale needs of the Army and the specialized requirements of the SOF community.
Intelligence and Influence
- Trend Capture: Provide continuous insight into trends spanning Army network modernization and SOF tactical communications, specifically regarding EW and spectrum management.
- Thought Leadership: Represent Silvus at senior Army, SOF, and industry forums to build institutional advocacy for the MN-MIMO waveform.
Accountability and Impact
- Integrated Planning: Develop and execute a combined Army/USSOCOM Market Development Plan, defining shaping objectives and pursuit milestones for both sets of stakeholders.
- Pipeline Maturation: Ensure multi-year program opportunities from both enterprises are matured toward Business Development hand-off
Travel Requirements - up to 50% as needed, to maintain strong customer engagement and relationships.
Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in strategic relationship management, account management, or government relations within the defense industry.
- Extensive prior U.S. Army, USSOCOM, or SOF Component Command service OR senior civilian/industry leadership experience directly supporting Army tactical networks or Special Operations mission sets.
- Pre-existing, verifiable network of contacts at the General Officer/SES level within either the U.S. Army or USSOCOM/SOF Component Commands.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic relationship management, account management, or government relations within the defense industry.
- Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy and build trust as a credible advisor within the Army or SOF community
- Exceptional executive-level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong strategic planning and “big picture” thinking.
- Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Domain knowledge in C5ISR, tactical communications, unmanned systems, or Electronic Warfare.
- Track record of successfully shaping requirements for major DoD programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Office environment.
- Trade shows.
- Outdoor environment for demonstrations.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
- Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
- Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
COMPENSATION: $200k - $240k / annual base salary plus opportunity for milestone incentives
Potential OTE: $240k - $280k / annually
