As part of the Marketing Operations team, the Marketing Automation Manager is primarily responsible for building, executing, and optimizing email, nurture, and event programs in Marketo. This role owns campaign execution, audience segmentation, deliverability, reporting, and performance optimization while managing the marketing calendar and Kanban board. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced using automation and AI tools to improve campaign performance, operational efficiency, and scalability. 

Responsibilities 

  • Marketing Automation & Campaign Execution 
    Build, test, launch, and optimize email, nurture, and event campaigns in Marketo, leveraging automation and AI tools to improve efficiency, personalization, and performance. 
  • Campaign Planning & Project Management 
    Manage the marketing calendar and Kanban board, coordinating priorities, timelines, and stakeholder communications. 
  • Audience Segmentation & Database Management 
    Build and optimize smart lists, audience segments, list imports, and targeting strategies. 
  • Deliverability, QA & Troubleshooting 
    Monitor campaign health, ensure deliverability best practices, perform QA, and resolve campaign, tracking, and data issues. 
  • Template & Program Development 
    Create and maintain reusable templates, landing pages, and program frameworks to improve efficiency and conversion rates. 
  • Reporting & Optimization 
    Analyze campaign performance, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure compliance with email marketing regulations and best practices. 

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. 
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Marketo (or similar MAP), including campaign execution, segmentation, workflow management, and troubleshooting. 
  • Strong understanding of email marketing, lead nurturing, lifecycle marketing, and database segmentation. 
  • Proven project management and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and email tracking methodologies. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Knowledge of email compliance regulations and deliverability best practices. 
  • Experience using AI and automation tools to improve marketing operations, campaign execution, reporting, or workflow efficiency. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) or Marketo Certified Practitioner (MCP). 
  • Familiarity with lead scoring, lifecycle management, and attribution reporting. 
  • Experience with AI-assisted marketing tools and emerging marketing technologies.
