MARKETING COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing Coordinator is a core member of the Mission Ridge marketing team and carries out much of its day-to-day work. Reporting to and taking direction from the Marketing & Data Systems Manager, the role handles hands-on production across social media, photo and video, email, the website and app, and signage, keeping guest-facing information accurate and on-brand. The Manager sets priorities, strategy, and approvals; the Coordinator executes them and keeps the daily work moving. As the team's daily workload shifts toward this position, the Coordinator also lends marketing-adjacent support to general resort operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, a strong communicator and content creator, comfortable with digital media and AI tools, and genuinely enthusiastic about skiing, snowboarding, and the outdoor lifestyle.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:
- Reporting and direction: Work under the direction of the Marketing & Data Systems Manager, executing the daily marketing plan, following agreed priorities and brand standards, and bringing decisions, new ideas, and anything outside the plan to the Manager for direction and approval.
- Social media: Create, schedule, and manage day-to-day social content and community engagement across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and other platforms, following the calendar and direction set by the Manager.
- Photo and video: Capture and edit photos and video of conditions, terrain, events, and guests for immediate and future marketing use.
- Email and web: Build and send email campaigns and keep website and app content current and accurate, based on the plan and approvals from the Manager.
- Signage and print: Produce and update digital signage and in-resort print materials.
- Event support: Promote and cover on-mountain events and promotions, capturing live content and assisting staff as needed.
- Brand consistency: Apply Mission Ridge's voice and brand standards consistently across every channel in daily production.
- Operations support: Provide marketing-adjacent support to general resort operations and coordinate across departments, as directed, for timely and cohesive messaging.
- Blacktail support: As needed, provide occasional support for marketing efforts at Blacktail Mountain, especially in the summer months. This is a secondary duty, not a regular part of the role.
SKILLS PREFERRED (OR REQUIRED):
- Schedule flexibility: Able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed during the season.
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written abilities for content creation and guest-facing updates.
- Attention to detail: Ensures accuracy and consistency across all content and messaging.
- Social media proficiency: Skilled with Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, YouTube, and other platforms.
- Content production: Experienced with DSLR and action cameras (e.g., GoPro) and with photo, video, and design tools.
- Technical and AI skills: Proficient in Google Sheets, Docs, and Gmail, and comfortable using AI tools to speed up content and routine tasks.
- Organization: Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- On-snow ability: Comfortable skiing or snowboarding to gather content preferred.
- Passion: Strong enthusiasm for skiing, snowboarding, and the outdoor lifestyle.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree or coursework in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field preferred. One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position involves a mix of desk-based work and active content gathering on the mountain. Employees must be able to carry cameras and equipment, bend, lift, and move efficiently while outdoors, and ski or snowboard to capture content as needed. Extended screen time is required for content creation, scheduling, and reporting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
