Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Director of Strategic Marketing, based in Austin, TX, with partial work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for leading the planning and execution of strategic marketing initiatives to drive brand growth, as well as overseeing market analysis and research to identify key opportunities. Responsibilities include collaborating with sales teams, monitoring market trends, and creating strategies to enhance brand positioning. The Director will also drive the development of marketing campaigns, partnerships, and outreach efforts aligned with organizational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and relaunch of the brand strategy.
  • Affiliate Program ownership & expansion.
  • Executive Partnership and Visibility, this role will support the CRO and CEO on all Marketing aspects.
  • Create a multi-year integrated marketing and communications plan that unifies all tactics, including corporate and brand messaging, advertising, digital/social media, promotions, PR, and cause marketing.
  • Develop strategies to capitalize on omni-channel growth while reducing channel friction.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide tools and materials that support sales objectives.
  • Establish a process for evaluating new products aligned with brand strategy and consumer trends.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive benchmarking.
  • Recommend and manage a multi-year budget to execute the brand and marketing plans.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to ensure plan execution within budget.
  • Conduct market research to identify the latest marketing technologies, tools, trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to update strategies and leverage them to enhance PKB Inc.'s marketing efforts.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of marketing experience with senior leadership responsibility
  • Experience with 501(c) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success scaling marketing in growth-stage companies
  • Proficiency in Market Planning and Strategic Planning to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies
  • Strong ability in Market Analysis and Market Research to generate actionable insights and identify growth opportunities
  • Experience in Sales and collaboration with sales teams to align marketing activities with business development objectives
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • Experience in the pet care, veterinary, or consumer health industry is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze ROI, and drive data-informed decision-making

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• This position allows for flexible work arrangements, including the option to work remotely

from home. However, the role requires the employee to reside within a reasonable distance from a major airport in the United States. It is important to note that the company may choose to end the remote work option at any time, with or without cause.

• The job involves physically working in a standard office environment with frequent interruptions, extensive people contact and communication, standing or sitting for extended periods, and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting.

• You should also be able to lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 25 lbs.).

• Ability to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination (such as a computer and a keyboard).

• Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard.

• Ability to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation as management approves.

• Finally, good verbal communication skills are essential to exchange information effectively.
