The Growth Marketing Manager is a high-impact role responsible for leading AlphaRoot’s digital presence and driving aggressive lead acquisition within the cannabis and emerging risk sectors. You will bridge the gap between traditional insurance marketing and modern growth hacking, leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to optimize the buyer journey from first click to bound policy.
This role is highly cross-functional, requiring close collaboration with Sales, Partnerships, and Technical teams to implement data-driven recommendations that improve client acquisition and brand authority.

Principal Responsibilities:

Paid Media Strategy

  • Omnichannel Paid Media: Take full ownership of all paid media channels, including industry-specific sponsored content, search, display, and social advertising. 

  • Sponsorship Management: Identify, negotiate, and execute high-impact sponsorships with industry publishers, newsletters, and event organizers to maximize brand reach and lead flow. 

  • Strategic Sales & ABM Alignment: Partner with Sales leadership to execute Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies; develop personalized content and digital ad sequences to penetrate high-value target accounts. 

  • Funnel Optimization: Devise ROI-driven strategies for landing pages and funnels. Use A/B testing and heatmapping to ensure paid traffic converts into high-quality inquiries. 

  • Budget Attribution: Manage the marketing budget across various paid experiments, ensuring a low CAC while scaling volume. 

AI & Marketing Automation

  • AI Integration: Implement and manage AI-driven tools to automate content production, personalize email outreach, and enhance lead scoring accuracy. 

  • Prompt Engineering & Workflows: Utilize Generative AI to scale the creation of marketing assets, ad copy, and SEO-driven articles without sacrificing brand voice or quality. 

  • Lifecycle Marketing: Create and manage sophisticated automated email sequences and lead-nurturing campaigns to move prospects through the sales funnel efficiently. 

  • Predictive Analytics: Use data modeling to identify trends in lead behavior and optimize campaign timing and messaging. 

Content & Organic Visibility

  • SEO Strategy: Lead the organic growth roadmap, focusing on technical site health, topical authority, and strategic link-building initiatives. 

  • Specialized Content Assets: Oversee the production of large-scale assets such as industry whitepapers, state-specific compliance reports, and interactive web tools like risk calculators. 

Partnerships & External Leadership

  • Affiliate & Publisher Relations: Oversee and scale a network of third-party affiliates and industry publishers to ensure a consistent flow of referral traffic. 

  • Contractor Management: Lead a diverse team of external vendors and offshore agencies—including PPC specialists, web developers, and freelance writers—to execute campaigns at scale. 

  • Reporting: Monitor campaign performance via Business Intelligence dashboards to provide monthly reports and actionable insights to senior leadership. 

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

You are exceptional at prioritizing work, setting expectations, and communicating to stakeholders. As a strategic thinker, you're skilled at connecting the dots between data and financial results to create and advocate for your strategies to drive growth. The ideal candidate has a proactive approach, can juggle multiple responsibilities and excels under pressure. They are comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility. 

  • 5+ years in marketing, with at least 2 years in a managerial position. Experience in high-growth startups or highly regulated industries (InsurTech/FinTech) is a major plus. 

  • Proven experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs, image generators, and automation wrappers) to improve marketing efficiency and output. 

  • Strong track record of managing five-figure monthly ad spends and negotiating direct sponsorship deals. 

  • Expert-level knowledge of CRM systems, Content Management Systems (CMS), and marketing automation platforms. 

  • Proven ability to source, onboard, and lead freelancers or offshore agencies to scale output. 

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor degree in marketing or communications 

  • Proven track record of effective growth marketing campaigns 

  • Experience in customer acquisition, retention marketing, and CRM (Salesforce) 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Expertise in productivity and communications software (i.e., Google Docs, Microsoft Office, CRM, WordPress,) 

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite - Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign. 

  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com, Asana, Trello, Jira. Knowledge of Agile methodology is a plus. 

  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment or interest cannabis business and community. Not required but a plus. 

  • Previous experience sourcing, managing, and leading freelancers/contractors (e.g. UpWork, Fivver, Offshore agencies) to scale marketing output. 

  • Passionate about lead generation, retention marketing, and driving bottom-line results.  

  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial company and drive immediate results
