Company Overview

Compound Eye enables machines to understand their surroundings in 3D and in real time using only passive sensors like cameras and IMUs. Our VIDAS™ technology takes video from automotive-grade cameras and outputs a dense, semantic 3D representation of the world that vehicles and robots use to navigate their environment—a fully redundant alternative to LiDAR and radar. We have customers across automotive, agriculture, healthcare, and defense, and are backed by Khosla Ventures, RTX Ventures, and other tier-one investors.

We’re a US team of 25 with a mission to teach machines to see. Our culture is built on transparency, mutual respect, and valuing great ideas wherever they come from.

The Role

Compound Eye is looking for a Marketing Specialist to own and grow our marketing presence. Reporting to the CEO, this is a hands-on role for someone with a builder mindset. You will take projects from idea to execution with a high degree of autonomy.

What You'll Own

  • Partner with leadership to develop and maintain brand strategy, ensuring consistency across all materials and channels, and to plan participation in conferences and events.

  • Partner with the CEO and Sales to understand the defense buyer landscape, competitive positioning, and industry trends, and translate those findings into actionable marketing decisions.

  • Lead a full redesign of our website, coordinating with designers and developers to get it across the finish line.

  • Create pitch decks, one-pagers, and product collateral to enable Sales.

  • Write clear, compelling copy for both customer-facing sales materials and external marketing channels.

  • Produce and project-manage concept videos.

  • Manage and track Compound Eye’s social media presence, with a primary focus on LinkedIn and defense industry channels.

  • Plan and manage Compound Eye's participation in industry conferences, including logistics, materials, and follow-up.

  • Manage relationships with external marketing and advertising agencies.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5+ years of B2B marketing experience across multiple disciplines, ideally in a tech startup or small team environment.

  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate content creation.

  • Proficiency with marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics or HubSpot to track performance and report on results.

  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adjust tone for technical and general audiences.

  • Able to manage and follow through on multiple projects with competing deadlines using asynchronous tools.

  • Remote-first within the United States, with occasional travel for company on-sites, conferences, and customer events.

  • Expect to work core Pacific Time Zone business hours to collaborate with a distributed team across various time zones.

Nice to Have

  • Defense industry, or demonstrated familiarity with defense culture, procurement processes, and the language of defense technology marketing.

  • Product marketing.

  • Case studies and testimonials.

  • Email marketing.

  • PR and media relations.

Travel

This role is fully remote and open to anyone based in the United States. You’ll travel to Redwood City, CA four times per year for company on-sites, and additional times per year for conferences or customer demos. All travel is covered by Compound Eye.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $85k-130k, depending on experience.

  • Strong Incentive Stock Options (ISO)

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Annual home office stipend

  • Employer-paid long-term disability, short-term disability, and life insurance

  • 401(k) with employer match after 6 months

Our mission is to teach machines to see. Our culture is based on transparency, mutual respect, mutual accountability, and valuing great ideas no matter where they come from. We already have revenue and our Series A round was led by a tier one VC. We are a remote-first company with employees across the United States. We had remote employees long before the pandemic and our team is now distributed across the U.S. We will ensure you have everything you need to work from home and the option to work from an office when it is safe to do so. We also offer competitive benefits including comprehensive health care plans, 401k with matching, flexible schedules, and discretionary PTO.
