The Microsoft System Administrator Mid provides administration and operational support for Microsoft platforms that are directly in scope for the SEC ISS contract, including Microsoft 365 GCC/GCC G5 and Microsoft Azure services. This role maintains secure, reliable, and compliant service delivery across Windows Server, Active Directory/Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams environments. The position delivers Tier 1/2/3 incident, request, and maintenance support to sustain SEC collaboration and enterprise productivity services through proactive monitoring and system upkeep. The administrator also supports Teams-based conferencing, Teams/Webex interoperability, and live streaming operations for mission-critical events while coordinating with ISS teams to meet SLA and operational objectives. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Microsoft Platform Administration 

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 GCC services in accordance with SEC operational standards. 

  • Provide Tier 1/2/3 operational support for Microsoft 365 GCC/GCC G5 collaboration and productivity services, including incident response, service requests, and escalation. 

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies across Active Directory/Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams. 

  • Perform configuration, patching, and maintenance activities to preserve system stability, security posture, and service continuity. 

 

Azure and Identity Operations 

  • Configure and maintain Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and virtual networking components. 

  • Administer Azure Active Directory identity services and access controls to support compliance and system integrity. 

  • Monitor Azure health, availability, and performance, and implement improvements for reliability and compliance. 

  • Support implementation and enforcement of security policies and standards across Microsoft and Azure environments. 

  • Collaboration, Messaging, and Video Services 

  • Support day-to-day operations for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related Microsoft collaboration services. 

  • Support Teams Live Events, enterprise webcasts, conference services, and Teams/Webex interoperability scenarios to ensure reliable video/audio delivery and rapid issue resolution. 

  • Coordinate AV/VTC and collaboration support with cross-functional ISS teams and external vendors for high-visibility meetings and broadcasts. 

  • Communicate service status, planned changes, and restoration updates to stakeholders and end users. 

 

Monitoring, Automation, and Service Improvement 

  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts for recurring administration, maintenance, and reporting tasks. 

  • Perform proactive monitoring, alert triage, and trend analysis to reduce outages and minimize user impact. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents affecting messaging, collaboration tools, and enterprise Microsoft applications; escalate complex issues as needed. 

  • Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned to SLA performance, automation goals, and secure operations expectations. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any other country to be eligible for work under this contract.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering). In lieu of degree, additional experience may be required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust.

  • 8+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on Microsoft technologies. 

  • Strong experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 environments. 

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams in an enterprise environment. 

  • Hands-on experience supporting Azure services, including Azure Active Directory, virtual machines, storage, and networking.  Experience supporting Microsoft Teams conferencing and video streaming operations for enterprise events. 

  • Windows Server administration 

  • Active Directory/Azure Active Directory and Group Policy management -Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams) 

  • Microsoft Azure administration (virtual machines, storage, networking) 

  • PowerShell scripting and task automation 

  • Monitoring, incident troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis 

  • Security policy enforcement and permissions management 

  • Teams conferencing, Webex interoperability support, and live streaming operations 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 GCC G5 environments in a federal or similarly regulated organization. 

  • Experience implementing Entra ID Governance, Conditional Access, PIM, and lifecycle access reviews at enterprise scale. 

  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for operational visibility and performance optimization. 

  • Experience with ITIL-aligned incident/problem management and ServiceNow-based service operations. 

  • Experience supporting high-visibility live collaboration events (e.g., town halls, executive briefings, commission-style meetings). 

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) 

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102) 

  • ITIL 4 Foundation

Pay Range:Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
