Job Description

As a Software Engineer on our Data Platform Search team, you will play a pivotal role in Solving for Safer by increasing the discoverability of life-saving data. You will design and implement the search architecture that helps a dispatcher or first responder locate critical information in seconds. At Motorola Solutions, we believe that clarity is power and context is key; your work directly ensures that our Assisted Experience provides users with the right information at the right time.

You will act as a human-centered innovator—partnering with teams to refine requirements, conducting rigorous code reviews, and ensuring our systems remain secure and resilient. Whether you are optimizing a microservice or refining data ingestion pipelines, you are building the "central nervous system" of a safety ecosystem that protects communities, schools, and businesses worldwide. This is a remote position located in Brazil, requiring collaboration with global teams to drive our Priority Intelligence strategy forward.

Basic Requirements

Location:

This is a remote position located in Brazil. You'll be working with a team with core hours of 9:00 - 15:00 MST/MDT. Occasional meetings can be scheduled for as early as 8:00 MST/MDT and as late as 17:30 MST/MDT.

Basic Requirements:
  • 4+ years of professional experience in object-oriented programming (C#/.NET or Java)

  • Advanced English Proficiency

  • Proven experience developing REST-based and Messaging-based APIs within cloud-based microservice architectures (e.g., Kubernetes)

  • Deep practical knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and modern DevOps practices including CI/CD and automation

  • Solid understanding of secure coding principles and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
     

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves):
  • Experience building or maintaining search systems using Elasticsearch or equivalent technologies

  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions

  • Knowledge of data streaming and event ingestion services such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or EventHub

  • Familiarity with C4 Architecture diagrams and Domain-Driven Development (DDD)

  • Experience with Docker, NodeJS, and TypeScript
