Role Description
This is a 1099 contract, remote role for a Mobile App Operations & Release Manager. The Mobile App Operations & Release Manager will oversee operational tasks related to the release management process. Responsibilities include managing the release calendar, coordinating with development teams, ensuring successful deployment of app updates, tracking release metrics, and maintaining high communication standards with stakeholders.
This is not a pure QA role - it’s for someone who understands the entire release pipeline and can provide technical insight and best practices for mobile development and deployment. Solar2D or LUA experience required.
Responsibilities
- Manage app releases across iOS, Google Play, and Amazon stores
- Oversee QA testing, bug tracking, and resolution coordination
- Review GitHub pull requests and verify functionality in Solar2D (Lua-based)
- Maintain release schedules, version control, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with the latest App Store and Google Play policies
- Conduct pre-release testing, including IAP verification and analytics checks
- Coordinate updates to seasonal content, artwork, and UI elements
- Monitor app health, performance, and crash logs
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing mobile app releases (iOS and Android)
- Working knowledge of Solar2D (Corona SDK) and Lua scripting
- Familiarity with App Store Connect, Google Play Console, and Amazon Developer Console
- Understanding of in-app purchase systems (RevenueCat preferred)
- Strong QA and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
