Who we areAbout Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Brand Studio lays the foundations that help Stripe accelerate. We do this by creating, evolving, and maintaining Stripe's high-quality, versatile, and forward-looking brand design systems, experiences, and advertising campaigns. We sweat the details. We make it seem effortless. Motion is at the core of how we bring the brand to life—from live event stages to digital campaigns, motion design is our most expressive storytelling medium.

What you’ll do

Motion Designers at Stripe demonstrate a passion for the craft of movement and a deep understanding of how motion communicates brand character. You will be responsible for defining and advancing Stripe's motion language across event experiences, digital surfaces, and mainstage scenic and creative content. You work at the intersection of design systems and cinematic storytelling, creating motion frameworks that scale while still feeling intentional and human. The ideal candidate is technically fluent, conceptually strong, crisply articulates motion decisions, and collaborates seamlessly with creative directors, producers, marketers, and engineering partners.

Responsibilities
  • Execute motion design direction across Stripe's internal and external event experiences—from concept through final delivery
  • Contribute to and maintain Stripe's motion design system: principles, timing tokens, animation guidelines, and reusable motion components
  • Create high-quality motion graphics, title sequences, animated brand assets, and creative content for live events, broadcast, and digital channels
  • Support and collaborate with the Experiential Creative Director, designers, event producers, and cross-functional partners to serve a global audience
  • Coordinate with external motion and production studios or contractors in creative strategy, execution, and delivery
  • Share motion knowledge and best practices with teammates
  • Steward teams through large-scale motion projects and productions
Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Requirements
  • Have 5+ years of relevant motion design experience for technical, brand-driven, or product-led organizations
  • Expert command of motion design tools: After Effects, Cinema 4D (or Houdini), AI tools, and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-craft motion work—including brand identity systems, event titles, animated campaigns, and/or data-driven motion
  • Familiarity with motion design systems and how to apply them consistently across contexts
  • Deep understanding of animation principles: timing, easing, staging, anticipation, and how motion communicates meaning and brand character
  • Exposure to designing for live event environments: LED walls, stage visuals, real-time rendering, and large-format displays
  • Familiarity with real-time tools (e.g., Notch, TouchDesigner, Disguise) is a strong plus
  • Proficiency with design collaboration tools (Figma, Keynote) and a systems-thinking approach to extending motion across shared patterns and behaviors
  • Working knowledge of emerging motion and AI tools and how they fit into a professional production workflow
  • Strong track record delivering high quality motion work independently, and in close collaboration with cross-functional partners
  • Find a meaningful balance between optimizing for speed, quality, and doing challenging, interesting, frame-perfect work
  • Are persuasive and humble in explaining your work, process, and decisions and crave feedback to help you design at your best
  • Love working with other designers to help them learn and grow—and have them help you learn and grow
  • Have excellent organization and presentation skills, and excel in written and verbal communication
  • Highly detail-oriented, with a drive for perfection down to the last frame
  • Are passionate about Stripe's mission, are dedicated to a user-first mindset, and have experience working with data and insights
