Job Overview:

As a Network Engineer III at CBTS, you will collaborate with diverse departments, including Managed Services Security, Managed Services Network, Engineering and Presales Architecture. Your primary responsibility will be the planning, configuration, and implementation of networking technology and providing Professional Services to our clients. This role may also involve support and repair functions for IP networks and associated customer networks. As a lead engineer, you will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction, professional services goals, and the success of implementing our data and Internet products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Deployment:
    • Lead technical deployment projects, including implementation plans, methods of procedures, and resource identification.
    • Engineer and configure customer orders within established processes and timeframes.
  • Capacity Planning:
    • Collaborate with Network Planning to manage growth and capacity plans, monitoring network performance and communicating capacity needs.
  • Network Design and Implementation:
    • Implement network designs ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Act as a technical lead on complex network projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Represent Network Engineering on cross-functional product/project teams.
    • Collaborate in the development, launch, and implementation of Professional Service services.

Experience:

  • Qualifications:
  • 7 years hands on engineering experience
  • Previous sales engineering or network design a plus
  • Cisco Certifications such as CCNP or CCIE highly recommended
  • Extensive hands-on experience in the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, routers, hubs, bridges, and switches.
  • In-depth Experience with TCP/IP platforms involving dynamic routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP and their related control protocols.
  • Practical real-world experience with heterogeneous networking components along with knowledge of routing/ switching involving VLANs, ATM, Frame relay, and optical carriers.
  • Experience using network analysis, management, and performance monitoring tools to evaluate product and service behaviors.
  • Familiarity with security-related Internet information sources such as BugTraq, CERT, etc.
  • Experience with the configuration, implementation and administration of both Hardware and Software based Firewalls including but not limited to Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint firewalls.
  • Experience with wireless technology and conducting wireless site surveys.
  • Experience with Visio creating detailed network diagrams.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Extensive hands-on experience in configuring and implementing firewalls, routers, hubs, bridges, and switches.
    • In-depth experience with TCP/IP platforms, dynamic routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), and related control protocols.
    • Experience with conducting network discovery, audits and assessments.
    • Knowledge of security-related information technology and services.
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and its enhancements.
  • Working knowledge of DS3, T1, OC3, ISDN, Frame Relay, SONET, ATM, and DSL.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience deploying and managing networks using DNAC/SDA.
  • Experience with ISE and scripting are a plus.
  • Fortinet NSE4+ and Palo SSE, PCNSA, PCNSE

Education:

  • Four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job-related experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No supervisory responsibility.

 Due to U.S. Government requirements applicable to foreign-owned telecommunications providers, non-US citizens may be required to submit to an extensive government agency background check which will necessitate disclosure of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information.
