About the role

The Network Engineer / Systems Support role is responsible for supporting the company’s network infrastructure, endpoint environment, and day-to-day technical support needs. This position ensures the reliability, performance, and security of wired and wireless networks, provides help-desk support to end users, and assists with endpoint management across the organization. The role also supports environments that interface with operational technology (OT) systems and works closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain secure, efficient, and dependable IT operations. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and support local and wide area network infrastructure.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis for outages or performance concerns.
  • Configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, and related network equipment.
  • Provide help-desk support for hardware, software, connectivity, and general technical issues,
  • Support endpoint management, including device deployment, configuration, maintenance, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain user accounts, system access, and related IT support functions as assigned.
  • Support network security, segmentation, access controls, and general cybersecurity best practices.
  • Assist with upgrades, migrations, patches, and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Maintain network and system documentation, diagrams, configurations, and standard procedures.
  • Coordinate with IT teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and service providers as needed.
  • Support network environments that interface with operational technology (OT) systems while maintaining appropriate security and segmentation controls.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering, systems support, IT infrastructure, or related roles.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networking.
  • Experience providing technical support for end users, devices, and business systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic IT environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cisco network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless solutions; Cisco certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud services and cloud networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with operational technology (OT) environments and the networking considerations associated with industrial control systems.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools and processes.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Familiarity with firewall administration, network security practices, and segmentation.
  • Experience supporting multi-site environments.
