Provide Tier 3 technical support, configure/firewalls, routers, maintain VMware and Azure environments, monitor network performance, assist with server admin, and manage documentation.
We are seeking an experienced Level 3 Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge and hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT environments, with a strong focus on networking, routing, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for complex IT infrastructure and networking issues.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot:
- Firewalls
- Managed switches
- Routers
- Wireless networking equipment
- Support and administer VMware virtual environments and Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, security, and system availability.
- Assist with server administration, backups, disaster recovery, and system upgrades.
- Support and troubleshoot IP and cloud-based phone systems.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
- Maintain documentation for network configurations, procedures, and systems.
- Participate in project planning, deployments, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5+ years of IT support or systems/network administration experience.
- Strong real-world experience with:
- Networking and routing
- Firewalls and network security
- Managed switches
- VMware virtualization
- Microsoft Azure
- Experience supporting IP/Cloud phone systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Industry certifications such as:
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco CCNA
- VMware VCP
- Microsoft Azure certifications
- Experience in K-12, higher education, or government environments is a plus.
