FOX Television Stations (FTS) owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations, including stations in 14 of the top 15 markets and duopolies in 11. Eighteen are FOX Network affiliates, and together the stations produce approximately 1,300 hours of local news every week. FOX LOCAL, the company's free ad-supported digital and streaming product, extends that news, weather and local content across connected TV & mobile devices. LiveNOW from FOX expands the FTS portfolio even further as the only national streaming services to be truly live 24/7, covering breaking news and events as they happen.

WE’RE HIRING: Main Evening Anchor & Digital Powerhouse

KTBC FOX 7 Austin | Austin, TX

Are you a dynamic newsroom leader who commands the anchor desk and dominates the digital landscape? FOX 7 Austin is looking for an energetic, relentless storyteller to anchor our premier evening newscasts and drive our 24/7 streaming presence in one of the fastest-growing markets in the country.

If you just want to read a teleprompter, this is not the job for you. If you know how to break news on TV, engage thousands on social media, and build a brand viewers trust everywhere, we want you on our team.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Desk: Anchor live daily newscasts and high-stakes breaking coverage with credibility, warmth, and high energy.
  • Anchor Digital Newscasts: Anchor live digital newscasts presented without scripts, using strong news judgment and a conversational, confident delivery.
  • Fuel the Digital Engine: Create engaging video-first content for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts, and push urgent updates to FOX7Austin.com, our app, and OTT streaming channels.
  • Engage the Community: Host live digital Q&As, interact directly with viewers online, and represent the station at major Central Texas events.
  • Drive the Story: Pitch enterprise leads, champion bold investigative angles, and mentor our team of reporters.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of primary anchoring experience in a fast-paced market.
  • Proven digital skills with a track record of growing an engaged online audience.
  • Strong unscripted anchoring ability and the editorial judgment to handle live and breaking-news coverage.
  • Mastery of video editing, CMS platforms, and live breaking-news execution.
  • A standout reel showing your best studio work and engaging social and digital content.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $130,000.00-150,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
