Amherst has significant ambitions for its business. The Executive Director of Investor Coverage will report into the COO of Investment Management and play a key role in delivering on the firm’s growth goals across its debt and equity strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead institutional asset-raising activities for the firm’s full suite of real estate investment products
  • Collaborate to develop, execute and systematically refine a business plan that identifies gaps in the current investor base and opportunities to source new capital
  • Build on existing, and develop new, strategic and long-term relationships with institutional LPs and consultants; Initiate direct outreach to engage in highly consultative, solutions-based discussions
  • Understand the investment landscape, industry trends, market opportunities, and investor needs, and relate those to the current and future capabilities of the firm to drive product development
  • Work with Investment Management teams to deliver a consistent, world-class investor experience
  • Maintain seamless and consistent follow up and diligent tracking of activities in the firm’s CRM system
  • Serve as an ambassador for Amherst, with a deep knowledge of the business model, solutions, and brand promise

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years’ experience in real estate asset management, with substantial time in a capital raising role
  • Deep industry knowledge and experience, with a broad range of real estate investment strategies
  • An understanding of the institutional investor landscape, and strong existing relationships with LPs and consultants
  • Proven track record of successfully achieving capital raising goals and building a world class brand within the institutional investor community
  • Disciplined, process-oriented approach to pipeline development, outreach, follow-up
  • Strategic mindset and an ability to contribute to the broader product development efforts of the firm
  • Results-oriented, collaborative, thrives in a team-based environment
  • Willing to spend 50%+ time traveling to see clients and prospects
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses required (or required post-hire)
