The responsibilities of the MLS Acquisitions Director will be to run all the operational aspects of the end-to-end MLS Acquisitions process. This includes overseeing the technology and data sources used to get the correct market data into the underwriting systems. Verify that all opportunities that match the Amherst buy box are being captured. Drive the speed and accuracy of Underwriting to get the bids to Brokerage teams, then speed and quality of bids going out to the listing agents. Leverage the results from all aspects of the value chain to drive continuous improvements in this acquisition channel. The incumbent will be responsible to look at how we better leverage technology and available internal/external data sources to assure that we have the most up-to-date data available. Building out an infrastructure that allows for the process to remain in control, and quickly flag when changes are seen in the data sources, markets, and results.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational oversight leader for the end-to-end MLS acquisitions sourcing operations

  • Manage the quality of data sources that will be used in underwriting and brokerage

  • Drive technology changes required to maximize the acquisitions through the MLS channel

  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in the acceptance and termination rates

  • Work closely with construction and closing teams on inspections, title, and close

  • Review data on acceptances, terminations, and closings to drive continuous data-driven improvements to the process 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, with 8-10 years of experience

  • High-level business acumen and ability to interact with senior management, colleagues, and supporting teams across the platform

  • Strong communication skills at all levels within the organization

  • Needs to have a data-driven mentality with the ability to create reports and understand the outcomes to drive operational improvements

  • Good understanding of ways to leverage technology, machine learning, and business intelligence to drive results

  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized with a proven ability to work well in a high-intensity environment to complete tasks quickly and effectively
