ABOUT THE ROLE


The Utilization Management Program Manager is the business and product leader who will support ongoing management of Bright Health’s Utilization Management program. This individual will partner with other teams at Bright, including technology, analytics, market leadership, as well as external vendors to implement new markets and functionality, oversee day-to-day program operations, and support the development of the product roadmap. This position will also oversee a team of workforce modelers and scheduling analysts to ensure that the Utilization Management team is staffed to meet internal and regulatory timeliness standards.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the implementation of clinical improvement initiatives and/or new market, or line of business installations
  • Oversee workforce management and scheduling team to ensure appropriate staffing of clinical and nonclinical resources, across onshore and offshore teams
  • Communicate status updates to the organization
  • Manage workplans and prioritize resources to meet key deliverables
  • Establish and document processes and procedures including oversight and governance structure to ensure product stability and scalability
  • Promote efforts to drive continuous process improvements within implementation, product enhancement and testing efforts. 
  • Support daily operations of Bright’s Utilization Management program and facilitate troubleshooting when issues arise
  • Partner with analytics and operational teams to evolve and execute program improvement metrics and reporting capabilities 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to develop and maintain a program improvement roadmap
  • Support initiatives to drive improvements in cost and quality of core product functions

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Seven (7) or more years of career experience required, ideally with a health plan or related field
  • Experience in managing a team of business, scheduling, or workforce analysts is preferred
  • Experience in interpreting data analytics, outcomes measures in health care and use of that data to drive change is preferred
  • Experience launching and/or managing products or programs is desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Excel, Visio and PowerPoint required

  • Ability to set and manage expectations across levels; drive decision making and balance needs across all stakeholders
  • Strong written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Leads through example, exhibiting a willingness to directly contribute to all team activities as needed
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with the members of the team by mutual earned respect and an ability to persuade with facts, logic, enthusiasm and a proven track record
