Senior Business Analyst | Oracle EPM Implementation

Location: Remote

Type: Contract

Start: ASAP

Focus: Oracle EPM Implementation, Financial Reporting, Requirements & Functional

Design

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with recent, hands-on Oracle EPM

implementation experience to support a client currently progressing through an Oracle

implementation and moving into the next phase of Enterprise Performance Management

(EPM) and reporting.

This role will sit at the intersection of business stakeholders, functional teams,

implementation partners, and technology teams. The ideal candidate is a strong functional

Business Analyst who can bring structure to an evolving implementation by leading

requirements discovery, defining scope, documenting future-state processes, and

translating business needs into clear functional requirements.

This is more of a BA role than a PM role. The client needs someone who can step into the

functional side of the implementation, ask the right questions, organize complex needs,

and help drive Oracle EPM and reporting work forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering sessions with Finance, HR, business stakeholders,

technical teams, and implementation partners.

• Define and document business, functional, and reporting requirements for Oracle

EPM.

• Help establish and refine project scope, priorities, dependencies, and functional

workstreams.

• Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, user stories, use

cases, acceptance criteria, and process documentation.

• Develop current-state and future-state process flows.

• Support the design and implementation of Oracle EPM functionality and reporting.

• Partner with business users to define reporting, forecasting, planning, budgeting,

and performance-management needs.

• Identify gaps between current processes and Oracle EPM capabilities.

• Work closely with implementation consultants and technical teams to ensure

requirements are correctly translated into system configuration and solutions.

• Support testing strategy, test scenarios, UAT, defect resolution, and implementation

readiness.

• Assist with data validation, reporting validation, integrations, and business process

alignment.

• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and help drive decisions when requirements or

scope are unclear.

• Support change management, user readiness, documentation, and go-live

activities.

• Provide light project coordination where needed, while remaining primarily focused

on functional Business Analysis.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of Business Analysis, Business Systems Analysis, or equivalent functional

systems experience.

• Hands-on Oracle EPM implementation experience within the last 5 years.

• Experience participating in an Oracle EPM implementation from requirements and

scoping through testing and go-live.

• Strong experience with requirements elicitation, stakeholder interviews, workshops,

and functional discovery.

• Demonstrated ability to define and document project scope.

• Experience creating BRDs, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance

criteria, use cases, and process maps.

• Strong experience supporting system testing and UAT.

• Experience working directly with Finance and/or HR stakeholders.

• Strong functional understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting,

planning, or enterprise performance management.

• Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements for implementation

teams.

• Experience working with implementation partners, vendors, consultants, and

internal technical teams.

• Strong communication and facilitation skills.

• Oracle EPM Experience

• Candidates should have recent implementation experience with one or more Oracle

EPM technologies, such as:

• Oracle Cloud EPM

• Planning / Planning Cloud

• PBCS / EPBCS

• FCCS

• Narrative Reporting

• ARCS / Account Reconciliation

• Financial Reporting

• Smart View

• Hyperion Planning

• Essbase

• Other Oracle EPM modules supporting planning, forecasting, consolidation, or

reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud implementations or migrations from legacy Hyperion

environments.

• Experience supporting financial reporting transformation.

• Experience with Finance and HR-related reporting requirements.

• Experience with integrations between Oracle EPM and ERP, HRIS, data warehouse,

or reporting platforms.

• Experience with data mapping, reconciliation, validation, or reporting design.

• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid implementation methodologies.

• PMP, CBAP, PMI-PBA, Oracle, or related certifications are a plus.
