Job Summary
The Organizational Development Senior Manager provides organizational design (OD) consultation and advice company wide. The Senior Manager partners with departments and leaders to develop and deliver initiatives that address individual, team, and functional capability gaps. They translate Cox Automotive business strategy into talent needs, lead OD solutions including organizational design and transformation, culture change, change management, group dynamics, and leadership alignment. The Sr Manager designs and develops dynamic OD interventions to support leaders in achieving their mission.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead complex organizational design projects across multiple business units, assessing current state organizational structures and designing future state models aligned with business strategy.
  • Partner with executive leadership to translate business objectives into organizational capabilities, structural models, and workforce requirements.
  • Design governance models, reporting relationships, and decision-making frameworks that clarify accountability and accelerate execution.
  • Conduct organizational assessments to identify structural inefficiencies, capability gaps, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Design role architectures, job leveling frameworks, and career pathways that support talent mobility and development.
  • Partner with talent leadership to ensure organizational design decisions integrate talent acquisition, development, and succession planning considerations.
  • Analyze span of control, layers, and organizational complexity metrics to optimize organizational health.
  • Facilitate senior leadership alignment on organizational design principles, trade-offs, and decisions.
  • Design and execute change management strategies that drive adoption of new organizational models.
  • Develop communication and engagement plans that build understanding and commitment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Leverage organizational data and analytics to generate insights on organizational effectiveness, talent distribution, and structural efficiency.
  • Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor organizational health and inform design decisions.
  • Conduct benchmarking analysis to understand industry best practices and identify opportunities for innovation.

Qualifications
Minimum
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or related field and 8 years of progressive experience in organizational design, management consulting, or related strategic HR functions.
  • The right candidate could also have a different combination of experience, such as a master's degree and 6 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience, JD and 3 years' experience; or 12 years' experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale organizational transformation initiatives in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Deep expertise in organizational design methodologies, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience translating complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior executives.
  • Proficiency in tools such as OrgVue, Visio, or similar OD platforms is a plus.

Preferred
  • Master's degree (MBA, MS in Organizational Development, or related field).
  • Experience with HR technology platforms and workforce analytics tools.
  • Certification in organizational design or change management.
  • Background in compensation modeling and job architecture.
  • Experience in enterprise-wide HR transformation initiatives.

USD 134,900.00 - 224,900.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $134,900.00 - $224,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
