We’re looking for an Outside Sales Account Manager to join our team and lead growth within a defined territory. In this role, you’ll combine your technical expertise in Fluid Power with strategic sales acumen to develop new accounts, grow existing business, and deliver innovative solutions to customers.

This position can be home based in or around McCallen, Laredo, Corpus Christi and/or Brownsville.
Essential Functions
- Drive Sales Growth: Meet and exceed annual sales and gross profit goals.
- Win New Business: Prospect, follow up, and convert new OEM, Capital Project, and MRO customers.
- Develop Target Accounts: Identify and focus on key strategic accounts for long-term growth.
- Understand Customer Needs: Conduct detailed needs assessments and develop tailored solutions based on technical and business insights.
- Deliver Winning Proposals: Create compelling proposals, presentations, and quotations that align with customer requirements.
- Negotiate for Success: Close deals that maximize value for both the customer and the company.
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Provide responsive, on-time, and error-free service while proactively solving problems.
- Collaborate Internally: Leverage internal technical and service resources to deliver the best solutions.
- Utilize CRM Tools: Track metrics, manage opportunities, and report weekly progress.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in weekly accountability meetings and ongoing training through SunSource University
Experience, Education, & Skills
- Experience, Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering OR 2-year technical degree in Fluid Power (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 3+ years of industrial sales experience
- 2+ years in Fluid Power sales strongly preferred
- Bilingual in English / Spanish is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Automation or Motion Control a plus
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
- Consultative, value-added sales approach
- Excellent communication, planning, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and competitive
- Valid driver’s license required
- Overnight travel may be required at times
